Batteries included...
Why can they not be self charging while in motion? I.E. a generator that is run off the drive line that recharges the battery.

good idea to be self charging but then there will be losses due to the effort it takes to turn the generator.
Added to that extra cost, weight etc to add the ability to self charge and then there is always the fact the the charging will never keep pace with use. I guess at least it might be able to extend the distance a little, but would it be worth it
I've been dreaming of an electric bike for soley commuting to work and back (roughly 50km round trip for me ATM) but other things keep me from doing it. That and the fact I'd still need a dino fueled bike for other stuff

It would want to make a noise of some kind or some cage freak won't hear it.
