Shorai Batteries ?

SHORAI batteries .
Only just heard about these so a bit sketchy on detail but have heard they are a lot lighter .
I'm all for less weight ,so anyone know any more details .

I have seen ads in bike mags for these. The weight saving is not huge. 1.95kg compared to 2.8kg for a YT12A-BS. But still lighter, and if it will last the claimed 2-4 times longer, well. They do have a web site.

A Yuasa bat , weighs in at 3.8 kg so the saving carnt be that great .Any weight saving is better but with cost and realiability it may not be worth it .

Hang on that battery i weighed came from the Aprilia .(a lot bigger )
The Suzuki battery is tiny so no advantage . Well not enough to change from Yuasa .

You would save just under 1kg Gus. Which is a lot of unwanted small brackets, bolts, screws, tubing, etc,etc.

True ,i'll have a look at them when battery dies .

My '06 still has the original factory battery, and still strong as. Now that I've said that, guess what will happen in the not too distant.

I had one of these in my last bike and it dropped from 3.8kg to 500 grams.

Just lay off the fast food. Better for you and makes your bike go faster

Im a paid up member of Fat Bikers over here. You gotta watch out for us on the road, were packin pastry.....

I would use one as they are smaller to make room for a pie warmer.

Guy I know who runs a HD Sportster has recommended I get one of these batteries from my BMW Bobber as they are very small yet same output etc as a normal sized battery.
