First topic message reminder :

I'm sure he wont mind if anyone else joins in. There's some good snappers amongst us.
No prizes. Just share your best work.

I think we'll limit it to one pic each per day
Anything to do with nature.
No photoshopping except for basic adjustments.
If you're a professional you should declare it in the post.
Max 1000 pixels wide.
Description optional.
Here's the big G's effort today. Taken at home today.
Here's mine. Taken at Walhalla last year
Come on, join in

A version of this is now my desktop background
That looks well worth the effort Chris.
PS I'm using a version of my Kookaburra as a desktop at the moment.

Yep, it was changing so rapidly that it gave you a different aspect to shoot every couple of minutes! I stopped so many times and just missed what I wanted to shoot! It sure made a long days drive more interesting and if your into desert stuff, it was interesting to see it wet.

I got a Nikon D7000 and it doesn't come with the ability to take a photo of itself, so suffer. I am going bush today and plan to put it through its paces. Just on its auto settings, it's pretty impressive ( well to me anyway). I think I am going to have fun with it. It was the standard twin lens pack that came with it and I haven't looked around for any others lenses yet.

I love the 18 - 55mm lens but the 55 - 200 that came with mine is a piece of junk Maybe you got the 55 - 300mm You're starting off with a top shelf DSLR. Mine is a better camera than I'll ever be able to use.

Thanks mate. I have lived in this house for 6 years and I have never watered or fed this Camellia but it just keeps producing flowers.
The shot was set up a bit. I was waiting for the right amount of "dusk" to set off the flower with the flash. I probably took 30 shots over an hour. The rain drops are natural though. You can do that in your own back yard I guess

Yep, I got the 18-55 VR and the 55-300 VR. I went out to shoot this morning and it came over very overcast, then started to rain.

Re: Misc Nature Photo's Thread
I'll be interested to see what clarity the 55 - 300 shoots like.
I'm scanning eBay for 100mm macro lens.

These are full auto in poor light (overcast) with the 300. I am building up a liking for the 18-55 actually.. And I to am looking for a macro lens.
