Trivia .....
First topic message reminder :
What does everone think about a TRIVIA thread
Stuff that maybe of no use to most people but really handy to the others. Maybe a good DVD ,something they have made, seen ,heard of ,
cooked ,been too .Minor things that do not really warrant a post of there own.(like most of my stuff ,there beat you to it )
Like taking a tractor tyre up north to float your Bandit across a river to a football selection ,the taste of beer ,who's state is
better at Rugby League. (may be not that) .Something that may make someone else say ,"why didnt i think of that".
Good idea or just post it on "off topic discussions " or not post it at all? (feeling vulnerable now )

Re: Trivia .....
You know when you do a mod. and post a pic. we tend to cover the number plate.Yet in a group shot or scenic bike shot we dont bother.
So why are we doing it in the first place.?

Re: Trivia .....
That's funny! I usually try not to show my plate but I don't know why! I guess I saw some one else do it and figured there's a reason!
Its like mobile phones in service stations, there's never been a bang but you dont want to be the first!

Re: Trivia .....
That is 65mm .The link pipe on mine is 50mm. Big difference .I'm going to try and make a new one ,but not sure what size tube to start with.
65 mm will be no good ,i can expand the ends but not shrink them as i would have to do with that size. 54mm i\d should fit over the extractor end ok
I think stainless tube comes in o\d 50.8 and then jumps to 63mm. Hence why they used the small size.

Re: Trivia .....
This piece of hose that i keep under the seat has been invaluable .Used for siphoning that small amount of fuel need to get you or someone else
out of trouble .It got used again today when i had to empty my tank . If you run out of fuel by the side of the road most bikers wont mind
letting you have a liter out of their tank .You know the rule though "you run out ,you suck " Cost 20 cents

Re: Trivia .....
Funny I have a high level of back ups in my 4x4 but but I'm not sure how I;d cope with any kind of failure when out on the bike!
Guess I'd call the RAA if I remembered to take my mobile phone!
Back in the 70's I'd have knocked on a farmer;s door and asked to use his phone and when my mate turned up with the 6x4 or ute i'd borrow 20 cents of my mate for the farmer' phone!LOL!

Re: Trivia .....
This piece of bicycle tube has worked a treat .I lost it the other day and really missed it .Gets rid of that loud " CLANG " every time the sidestand
slams home .
If you take your centre stand off ,here's how to still use it at home.Simply pull the pin .

Thanks Gus, that's two really cheap and useful ideas I'll do ( the fuel hose and the rubber on the side stand ).

Re: Trivia .....
If I may critique these mods Gus. The head of the bolt in pic 2 isn't polished. And the hose would look better flat black.
