Helmet too old?

I"ve got a ARAI RX7 Helmet. The outside is like new,not a mark, the inside is a little dirty and worn but ok. I really like this helmet and have
done lots of ks in it.
Trouble is its marked 02 on the strap which makes it 9 years old. I know they say replace after 5yrs but it looks new.
I do have a newer Arai but i like the look of this one (older) and keep picking it up.

Am i being foolish and should retire it, or you know it never been dropped its fine.?

Kitchen looks nice.

If it hasn’t been dropped or otherwise abused and if it still fits good I'd still use it.
I'm up for a new HJC as soon as funds allow because the current one is 5 yrs old and is used every day (3000+ times its been done up and undone) leaving the chin strap a little frayed and it is starting to feel a but loose meaning the internal padding has compressed. Its also had one "off" and it was blown off a fuel bowser one windy stop early in its life.

I've had similar to Gus, had a really good Bell, black and unmarked. Bought this one in 95, used it till early naughties then bought an Arai, the Bell then sat in a dark box, which got dusted out in a garage cleanout in about 05. All the black foam lining inside the Bell fell out with the inside layer being easy to scrape away, so I give it the the Daughter as a donation to her primary school to use as a prop (with a tag stapled inside not to reuse)! Happy to spend $ every 5 to 6 years on comfy head gear with the intension to not do a self test...
