Polished Rims.
First topic message reminder :
After having polished wheels on the previous bike(1200s)I decided to do my own on the new one (1250naked)What surprised me was how easy and how quick it was.It cost about $5 and took about 2hrs a wheel.Suzuki have done most of the work for you.If anybody wants to know how just ask.I will try to download some photo's but i'm new to the forum stuff(type with one finger and letters hide sometimes+

Re: Polished Rims.
That settles it. I'm painting my chain guard and moving the reg label holder somewhere else. Nice
Re: Polished Rims.
Haven't Vic done away with rego lablels? WA has so no need for rego label holders. Just means you need to remember to re rego the bike occasionally!2wheelsagain wrote:That settles it. I'm painting my chain guard and moving the reg label holder somewhere else. Nice

Re: Polished Rims.
Has anyone thought the black paint on their wheels is starting to look a bit ordinary, in age that is .The paint on mine has always looked
real thin (and is ). Now its starting to look a bit blotchy. I like the look of polished against black but its starting to look more and more
like polished against grey. I'm toying with the idea of spraying the centers real black not the blackish they came with.
P.S Creadit for the polished wheels must go to Des.\B. who posted the how to on another site .

Re: Polished Rims.
My black rims are still looking great except for a couple of stone chips. i get in and use a bit of wet look polish every second wash.
Just as shiny as the rest of the bike

Re: Polished Rims.
Nice one DB .Having also taken off the black (?) paint on the rims they do a bit 40 grit like .Powder coating is out of my league so i was thinking
a silver paint to help smooth them out slightly. There is a nice place down the road from me for rent you know DB .
Nice self portrait effect on the front guard too.

Re: Polished Rims.
I'm guessing DB's not going to rent the house down the road so he can powder coat the centre of my wheels . I had to settle for painting them
myself with silver paint .The raw alloy looked good but a bit unfinished ,while not up to DB's standard it is an improvement .Hard to tell in the
pic but much more striking .

I'm impressed - if I didn't have the all black 2010 version I would be very tempted to follow suit.

Polished rims on the all black version looks best of ALL. My last 1200 was black and polished rims (black centre ) looked better than this .

Seeing the black paint on my brake disks was looking poor (Looks ok in pic ) i decided to take all the black paint off.

They look good Gus but mine would last 10km before there is chain oil spots on them
Hows the new short wheel base Bandit performing?

Is that 'Holts' Silver or similar with a 'clear' over the top (and clear on the polished alloy too)
- Looks pretty good.... might be a job for mine in the near future...

Re: Polished Rims.
Siver "dupli colour " (116) with clear on top . Polished part no clear top coat . Easyer to keep clean than black rims . Like a black car ,the worst
colour to keep clean .

That looks Great Gus. Well done. Very tempted to attack mine. I have another " cheap " mod that I will try first and see if I like.

Re: Polished Rims.
Its a shame you have to put disks on the front wheel because it sure is pretty without them .
