Polishing rims
On a 1st gen, have any of you guys left the spokes and the centre of the rim black and polished the outer edges? I'm considering doing it as mine are pretty 5hit and I'm too cheap to have someone powder coat or paint
Any pictures of your handywork?

I have seen photos somewhere and really like the look but couldn't be stuffed keeping them polished
Here's a few examples

Re: Polishing rims
A mate of mine did it to his GSX750F, came up looking real good.
Fairly sure he masked up what he didn't want stripped (spokes) and used paint stripper on the rim.
You'll want a clear coat over it afterwards to stop corrosion

I think I'm going to roll with brushed, below is a pic of a GS1000S that I owned a lifetime ago with brushed finished Lester's on it. I'd long forgotten that it had brushed rims.

Nice
A solid rear sprocket too.
When on my "L's" I raced one of those one night. Unfortunately, my TS250 could only manage 130kph, at which he put the visor down, waved bye bye and disappeared into the night at a great rate
