Brake light not working
Hi,
I have a problem with the brake light on my 07 Bandit 1250s non ABS. It is not working with both front and back brake levers. The tail light works. I have changed the bulb. Still not working
Does anyone have a solution?
cheers Happy Jack

Have you looked at your fuses, after looking at the wiring diagrams it seems that the turn signal fuse also powers the brake lights.
Maybe some other electrical genius might jump in with a better solution.

Thank you. Turn indicators and horn run off the same fuse/relay. Both work. Auto Electrician time. I have a workshop manual.

Re: Brake light not working
Circuitry is pretty simple, Ign 12v applied through either hand or foot brake switch goes along the Black wire down to the three pin connector at the back of the bike under the grab handle then down to the tail light assembly into the bulb and out via the black/white wire to find a ground.
Can you put a test light on that 3 pin connector (on the bike side) on the black and black/white wires to see if it lights when the brake is applied, this will check your wiring/fuses/and switches if it lights up ok. If it does then the fault is the bulb, it's connector and/or the small loom going down to it.
Faults are either bad/wrong bulb (should be a dual pin base bulb), dirty bulb holder, or bad earth connection. It's also not unheard of to have two faulty bulbs, this will take you on a wild goose chase if the supposedly good bulb is faulty.
Good luck.

Barry is onto it mate. Time to whip out the test light or multimeter. Hopefully it's something simple
