Credit card takes a hit .
First topic message reminder :
Why is it you seem to find good things when you are skint . Never mind ,I still think the $2000 was well spent . Also it was only 5 hrs drive away .
AS it came . Suzuki gsxr 1100 , 1987 slab side .Been in a shed for 6 years , unloved but not seized .New owner had powder coated wheels , bought
new disks and $400 worth of bearings and seals .THen bought 2 gsxr 750's and lost interest in this one .

Re: Credit card takes a hit .
After a week of trying to get it to run on 4 cylinders with no success I was running out of options .
Cylinders 1,2 ,3 and 4 all had good spark .
Cylinders were getting fuel .
We had good compression ,
It should go ,well it did ,but only on 1 and 4 . Check plugs ,coils, and caps on 2 and 3 all good ,and have spark .
A week later problem persists .
I check pulsar coils on the ignition which seems stupid because I have spark . I have no idea what an ohm is but internet tells me how to check both .
One gives me a reading the other nothing .I have a spare on an old Bandit motor so fit it .
Hit the button and all 4 cylinders fire .
I have no idea how that seems possible but not complaining .

Well done Gus. I am a mechanical blonk and am in awe of the way you solve these problems. Glad to hear there have been no more fires.

There is a hell of a nice one on BikeSales at the moment for $6500 negotiable. I'm biased towards black and gold bikes but I didn't know the GSX1100 was released in that colour scheme. Eligible for historic reg next year in NSW too.

Looks good (so did both of my ex wives and they cost me a fortune!) are you going to make it yours?

Looks neat & tidy...........can't be positive , but I think the rims were originally black like this . Either way , it looks a good buy .

No, I was looking because I'm trying to sell my XS850 and periodically check out the competition! Not happy when these fine examples appear and at a lower price than I'm asking.
But it would be a great buy (potentially - I haven't seen it of course) for someone interested in a bike for historic reg (which costs next to nothing, ie $53 inc CTP).
