No Mar Tyre Fitting Machine
Two mates of mine and myself felt that our local MC shop was less that competitive and the tyre shops that fitted bike tyres were a bit exxy to fit as well. So we started looking at some second hand fitting machines but all the ones we found either required 3 phase power or Noah used on the Arks trailer.
Enter No Mar after watching some video's on how to and looked at some other brands so we had a scrum and $750 later a NoMar Classic fitting machine and a Classic balancer arrives at home.
No these machines are all about 1 thing ! technique. So plenty of practice is required. I suggest that before to start on your own wheels see if you can pick up a 17" rear to practice on this helps a lot
watch the no mar videos a lot and use the lube.
and as i said technique is what it is all about so now after about ten sets of tyres, yesterday i managed to do both front and back by myself with minimum effort
1st i chucked the tyres out in the sun to warm up, but dont do it to long as it makes them to sticky 15 mins should be fine
Front tyre on and of balanced in 15 minutes
Rear Tyre this was a bit of a bitch as the first bead would not go over, so break the rim protector and a leaver, 10 mins later, a bruise on my wrist and a lot of sweat it dropped over the lip then its was easy all the way.
Advantages of a owning a tyre fitting machine is you can buy tyres at better prices like i bought a set of Dunlop Road Smart 2s from motorcycle discount warehouse for $349 the set or bike biz offers good deals with free freight.
it also means you will not waste tyres like if you about to go on a long ride but your tyres still have bit left change and rack em
yes it will take a bit to pay for it self but if you a have a couple of mates and go thirds then it well worth it.

Howdy Mr Chalkie,
I don't ride a Bandit these days but I still keep an eye on the forum as there are some really sincere blokes here.
For tyre changing I have a suggestion (check with Jim first )
Buy a set of tyres from BikeBiz or similar and have them delivered to Jim's place
Organise an overnight stay at Merimbula (wherever that is ??? - no just kidding)
Ride to Jims place and take a "slab" as payment for the tyre changing.
Meet a fellow rider (Jim) and talk a lot of shit together whilst consuming said slab.
Probably better to change the tyres before the slab gets too demolished
Ride home the following day with a new set of tyres and having made friends with a like minder rider.

Re: No Mar Tyre Fitting Machine
Thanks for the suggestion Dave. I am hoping to casually ride along the coast from Queensland to Melbourne in January 2017 and will be happy to have a drink with any Forum member along the way without putting anyone to any trouble. Where's Merrimbula? A great coastal town in NSW.

Re: No Mar Tyre Fitting Machine
Just head out of Merimbula northbound on the Princes Highway.
I'm just up the road a wee bit.
If you see a sign that says "Cairns - 60" you have gone too far
We met a couple of caravanners when living on the Gold Coast.
They said they were from Melbourne (what a stupid thing to admit to) and asked how much further to Cairns..
The missus said "just stay on the same road, it's just up ahead"
They should make responding to Mexicans a national sport.

Not really a Mexican
I'm cut to the quick! Like Graeme Connors sings " I Go A Little Further North Each Year" so I might get to Hervey Bay one day but currently I spend about 3 months a year in Airlie Beach and according to the mates there I qualify as 25% cane toad.

Yep, just reinforces my opinion of Mexicans for their navigation skills.
You'd be travelling past Hervey Bay to get to Airlie Beach (I expect!!!) unless you took the inland (dry as a Pommies towel) A5 route.
Who is Graeme Connors?

Yep a great place. Locals describe it as a drinking town with a sailing problem. You can typically crew on a race boat any Wednesday evening as they're always looking for crew even if its just to sit on the rail. Half the population at any one time are young backpackers from all over the world. The gateway to the 74 Whitsunday Islands - I love the place.
