hey  there  bandits and riders , Great forum Ive been a reader for a few years  not much of a writer  but ill give it a go .Kundalini has a problem , not my hand its doing ok but my bandit is not  .Now it was going great no  perfect up untill I decided to tinker .what happed next I started with buying new battery cleaned k n filter drained carby bowls and checked filter in fuel tank. After this I start her up she only fires on numbers 1& 2 cylinders so I check all electrics, new plugs new fuel . figure out theres  no petrol  getting to cylinders 4 and 3 .plugs are dry and clean 1&2 plug are not .fuel levels in bowls are equal .pulled carbs out stripped them  found  nothing all clean  , slipped them back in sill same problem has compression in all pots .so at this stage the carbs are pulled out again and ive stripped them right down .looking at buing some new gear 110 mains  17.5 pilots needles have 5 slots the clips are now at 4 down from the top , thanks for reading , any advice  would be great  thanks,

You've definitely got spark on all 4 plugs? Id be putting a full rebuild through the carbs while you have them off. Maybe put it back to stock seeing first and get it running prior to tinkering with main jets etc.

If it was running fine before , retrace your steps & check all connections, pipes , vacuum pipes etc before you do any more mods & change things another setting away from the running mode you had . Then do your changes one at a time .

Are you sure you have spark on all cylinders? If so I think it might be time to take the bike to a shop for diagnosis

Fuel supply issue to the two carbs of the dead cylinders.

you will need to remove the pilot jets and push a piece of wire through the jet to clean out anything that is restricting the flow of fuel and also the passage, blowing compressed air throught he jet doesnt always work, if the carbies are back on the bike take it for a run and see if it runs on all cylinders once you are on the main jets, the pilots have such a fine hole that they block easily

That is assuming it IS fuel related

Just played around a bit more   now bike wont fire up but backfires out exhaust,  plugs seem to be getting fuel now, plugs r sparking  when checking  4 spark outside the cylinder.plugs 4 & 3 still haven't fired r like new other 2 r black .starting to think ignition problem.what I can't understand is before all this trouble the bandit with 62000 km s was going great , all I did was cleaned  air filter, drained carbs & cleaned plugs  what the        could have gone wrong

Hey there, ive been scatching my head for a while , I am placing my bet  on the plug caps . I checked resistance in the coils& leads  tested good but the caps r suspicious   2 with  high readings other 2 reads zero. Find some new ngk caps 5 omhs and see how  it  fires up

Sounds very similar to the gremlin I was chasing in Rolls old bike.
Used to backfire through exhaust while cranking. Just unburned fuel reaching a critical volatility.
Check your connections around main fuse under LHS panel, behind your left knee if your on the bike.
Still haven't sorted mine. Got her running and as soon as I re mounted the main fuse assembly she stopped again.
On the back burner still.  Crying or Very sad

Storms are a heap of fun but they have their shortcomings.
Talk to me before buying and I'll go through the mandatory reliability mods.
And the carbs are easy to f*$k up on these too Laughing

Workshop manuals are definitely worthwhile. Good luck getting the gremlin sorted. At least it gives you an excuse to be down the shed.

Idle jets blocked.
Just got spare 1200 running last weekend. Would start on choke but not run at all without. Pulled carbs. All four idle jets were blocked. Old fuel solids.
I suspect you will find the same.

I think he's saying that by introducing Aerostart directly into the cylinders he was able to deduce that 2 of the cylinders have no spark. Since each coil services two cylinders I think he must be getting close now.

Ahh. I miss read it as cylinders fired with aerostart.
Next step. Swap coils and see if the other two cylinders fire. Dud coil.
