6742 Wimmera Hwy Logan VIC 3475
Enquries: PH Bloody Keith (03) 5496 2200
Basic cabins, shared caravan park style amenities, cheap meals, includes hot cooked breakfast (was $50 for a twin in 2012)
Lake Wallace Hotel, Edenhope Victoria
46 Elizabeth St Edenhope
(03) 5585 1191
Basic clean backpacker style accommodation with self serve continental breakfast included for $30 p/n, great value but not everyone's cup of tea
Friendly staff, good meals, cold beer and undercover parking for bikes, I'd have no problems going back again.

The Cally in Warrnambool advertises itself as "Bike Friendly" (push bikes and motor bikes) offering off street parking and basic dorm rooms for larger groups or twin rooms start at $40 p/n
I'll probably give it a go on the way to the WSBs/Grampians National meet in Feb

Re: Victoria - Bike Friendly Accomadation
I ended up skipping this one and grabbing a basic motel room off lastminute.com for $60, it was worth the extra $10 for ensuite and come and go as I pleaseChook wrote:The Cally in Warrnambool advertises itself as "Bike Friendly" (push bikes and motor bikes) offering off street parking and basic dorm rooms for larger groups or twin rooms start at $40 p/n

by the time I booked in January the price had gone up to $50, I couldn't put the bike away until after 9:00pm and couldn't get it out until after 8:30am

Hilltop Hotel, Omeo
107 Day Ave,
Omeo,
Vic, 3898
$50 p/n for a double bed in a room for 1,
includes hot cooked breakfast (sausages, bacon, eggs, toast, juice, coffee)
I didn't get a price for a twin room
Great shower just down the passage
Friendly staff and publican
Barry and Willow were looking for somewhere, nothing in town appeared to accomadate dogs, they let him put up his swag on the lawn, use the showers and join us for breakfast for $10
They have a shit load of rooms, the ones we were in (myself, madmax, Hammy and Hammy's mate B2) were clean, comfortable and reasonably spacious
madmax's did have the water pump outside his window so he heard every time someone went to the toilet that night.
Through a door there was another wing that has just been fully renovated, I don't know if those rooms are more expensive or not.
One member who's also on the FB page suggested we'd taken 2nd rate accommodation and should have been down the road at the Golden Age Hotel.
The Golden Age was our 1st choice where we got into town, we called in to have a beer to find it was fully booked and they had no way of accommodating Barry or Willow so they suggested the Hilltop.
The Hilltop had a spot out the back for the bikes, the next morning we noticed everyone at the Golden Age had their bikes on the street for the night.
I'd have no problem staying at either pub in Omeo but would probably lean towards the Hilltop to put my bike off street for the night.

Halls Gap Gardens Caravan Park, Halls Gap
(Formerly Grampians Gardens Tourist Park)
2223 Grampians Rd,
Halls Gap,
Vic, 3381
Originally we had booked the cabin because Barry and Willow were travelling through with us and dog friendly accommodation is pretty scarce around there (Barry ended up with overheating problems and decided to take the flat road to Robe to be safe, probably a good idea after a couple of the hills madmax had us climbing before we go to the Grampians).
The cabin (twin deluxe) we hired had a queen size bed in it's own room, a double bed, also in it's own room and there was a fold out sofa bed in the lounge where Willow could also have slept beside it on her bed to be close to Barry (they have 2 of these cabins for pets in the park, the rest are strictly humans only)
http://www.hallsgapgardenscaravanpark.com.au/portfolio/twin-deluxe-cabin/
We arrived in stinking hot weather to find the hosts had turned the AC on so we could cool off straight away
The Halls Gap Hotel was a 5 min walk away, top spot with a great view of the ranges and ice cold beer, great meals, friendly bar staff and friendly patrons
I really enjoyed the stay there and I'm pretty sure Bryan did as well

High Country Holiday Park, Mansfield
1 Ultimo Street,
Mansfield,
Vic, 3722
http://www.highcountryholidaypark.com.au/
We arrived in Mansfield in the afternoon without anything booked, there wasn't much around that let dogs in so we settled for a budget cabin for madmax and myself ($90) and Barry and Willow ended up putting the swag up again in the camping area.
The cabin was ok for a night, it had ensuite, reasonably comfy bed, a kitchen. It was a stinking hot day and would have been nice for the AC to be turned on a hour earlier when we made the booking, the AC really did struggle to cool the cabin down.
We walked to the Delatite Hotel for tea, great meal, talking to the publican after tea we told him we might have stayed there if there was somewhere for a dog, he said "you should have asked, we would have worked something out" I'm not sure if he had a shed willow could have shared with the bikes or something else but I think I'd prefer to go back to the pub if I'm up that way again

I stayed at the Sandpiper Motel in Apollo Bay on Tue night. Nice and comfortable. They said they get a lot of bikes staying there and even asked what I was riding. A short walk to the 2 pubs in town and a block from the Caltex servo.
Re: Victoria - Bike Friendly Accomadation
madmax and I stayed at the Glider City Motel, not sure standard rates, Mandy is a "friend of a friend" so we were looked after with a great cash price
The motel has a courtesy bus and will deliver you / pick you up from any of the pubs/restraunts in town that you want
Bikes aren't undercover but are tucked away well of the street, room is large and all have been recently renovated

Hotel Warrnambool
Koroit St Warrnambool
Old upstairs pub rooms, 8 with ensuite, 4 with shared bathroom from $110
We stayed in am ensuite,
Ducted reverse cycle air-conditioning
Modern ensuite
Firm comfy bed
Lock up off street parking for cars and bikes
Dining room. Is more like a nice restaurant with very reasonable prices, if you want a traditional pub meal, the front bar serves that
$140pn and worth every cent
