Hello from boronia, Victoria
Hello everyone! Just have purchased ( several days ago) Suzuki bandit 1250sa(gsf) 2010 , with 7800 on the clock! Upgraded from cb600f Honda hornet 2008!
The bandit - great bike, big engine , sweet to ride and most of all: it has awesome sound ( MegaCycle muffler)
As turned out the previous owner has forgotten to do 6000& k service! I was trying to book in to Jeffry Honda in frentree gully, but they had spot only for next wednesday, I could not wait that long as I need to use bike to commute to work! I check the manual and 6000 km service is just an engine oil replacement , so I decided to do it myself. How hard it could be , I thought! It was not that hard but it was a challenge ( I did for the first time). Firstly, I went to jeofrey to get oil and filter. Secondly, I tried to put motorbike on centre stand but was not able to do so! I watched YouTube video and it looked so easy! I was afraid to drop the bike so after 10 minutes I gave up and decided to use side stand! Anyway, to cut long story short, I have changed the oil! However, next time I'd rather professional to do the service
Love the bike and glad that there is forum about it!
P.s appologies for my English -it is not perfect as it is my second language!

Re: Hello from boronia, Victoria
Welcome Acteck.
The secret to getting the bike up on the centre stand is to used the lever on the centre stand and your legs to do all the work. If your trying to use your arms you'll never do it.
1. with the bike on the side stand and the front wheel straight, stand on the left side of the bike, set the bike up level so both feet of the centre stand touch the ground.
2. with your left hand holding onto the left hand grip and the right on the left pillion foot peg mount (that's where I hold on to it) push down hard on the centre stand lever with your left leg
3. as the bike moves up and backwards only use your arms to guide it
PS doing it for the first time I recommend a mate standing on the right side of the bike, just in case.

Just to add to madmax... never pull the bike back with the left hand. Try and lift up and backwards, imagine trying to bury the centre stand into the ground and straighten your legs as you lift and ease backwards, let the weight of the bike do the work for you.
More importantly always sit/ straddle the bike to get it off the centre stand.

There is one of my videos on here about lifying onto the centre stand.
Its not hard. Steady with left hand and lift with right on pillion bracketwhile stomping on a bullant with your right foot.
A mate put mine in the stand while sitting on the bike. It was a good effort I thought

It is always difficult when u r not exactly sure how to do it, as soon as I have done it several times it should be easy! So, will try again when I have mate stand near, just in case as my wife is too tiny for this role ( however she is totally my mate

Re: Hello from boronia, Victoria
Welcome to the forum... one thing I'd also suggest is that you have the front wheel pointed slightly to the right as you push down on the Centre stand lever with your right foot... As has been said by others... grab the left side pillion peg mount with your right hand and just guide the bike up as you push down with your foot... keep the mate on the right hand side just in case...

Howdy. I agree grab a mate until your confident with your technique. Shame about the previous owner not changing the oil.
