Need some new hoops, front and rear.
(The Michelin PR2's have done 19,ooo km, and could last till the next Wet for commuting, but a track day beckons on May 30th...)
Best price in Darwin for PR4's
$229 front
$299 rear
Add $70-$100 to fit and balance.
$630!!!

Re: Tyre prices - faark!
I`m in the process of buying some: BATTLAX HYPERSPORT S20 EVO`s
And that's going to be $500 for the two fitted, but that is me giving them the wheels, not them removing the wheels.
Why don`t you take them off yourself, its not that hard, and save a few $$$$$.
I will eventually fit them myself, when I get around to making a jig.

I paid $495 fitted for a set of pr4s in Hervey Bay September last year when I was still living up north. The rear is a GT tyre as well. Was quoted $550 from Hughenden just for the tyres at the same time.

My rear is a GT, there were no GT fronts available when I got mine, they'd been on back order for a couple of months and they had no idea how much longer they were going to have to waitCorsa79 wrote:I paid $495 fitted for a set of pr4s in Hervey Bay September last year when I was still living up north. Re: Tyre prices - faark!
Stinko's. $300 will see front & rear shod.
Can't complain about them so far.

Re: Tyre prices - faark!
The local bike shop here quoted $550 for a set of PR4s fitted plus an extra $10 disposal fee for the old tyres. But, their quoted price for fitting requires you to bring in the wheels, esle they hit you up another $80 in labour charges. I could have saved $50 by riding to the Suzuki dealer down MM's way and I wouldn't have had to remove the wheels myself. But that does have the advantage of giving you the opportunity to inspect the brake pads - and my fronts are getting low so a new set has been ordered.

If you use Rockymountainatv.com
You can purchase the Dunlop Roadsmart II for 301 US delivered which is about $373 Aus dollars delivered to your door in a week. Then you just need to pay for fitting.

I havent bought tyres online before but I'm thinking I'm crazy not to.
The only issue I have is the local shop may not be keen to fit tyres bought elsewhere. Its not like I have options
Re: Tyre prices - faark!
Awhile back I asked my local dealer how much to fit tyres if I supplied them. He wanted $50 each. Then gave me a deal I couldn't refuse on a pair of PR4s. That was the same deal Dave rode from Canberra for.

Jake Wilson sell all the tyre changing gear as well if you don't mind getting your hands dirty. You'll swear a bit the first time2wheelsagain wrote:Greg62 wrote:If you use Rockymountainatv.com

If it gives you any tips this is my setup. I was a bit cheesed cos I didn't have any threaded rod or 1" od pipe lying around so I had to buy them - bummer. The wheel is a 14" - fits street bike rims the best.
The mount/demount bar is a NoMar and they opened a distributor in Oz last year and have all sots of goodies. http://www.nomartyrechanger.com/
Reddog uses the Mojo, but whichever brand you like the mount/demount bars are just bloody priceless, easily the best way to change in the comfort of your own shed.
" />
PS - reddog - I originally made a bar myself which worked fine for the first two tyres. On the third tyre the garden hose over a piece of round bar which formed the
tip cut through and took three inches of paint off the rim. Being such a meatfisted bastard I immediately got the wallet out and ordered a NoMar

Re: Tyre prices - faark!
I bought a Mojo lever and my brother bought a stand. Pretty easy except his VFR1200x has spoked rims with a low dish.
Couldn't workout why we had so much trouble last time until my brother realised the window spray he was using wasn't slippery on rubber!
If we could only sort out a good lubricant, the pastes available online work out too dear with shipping.
Trying to keep the moisture down because we are using dynabeads for the balancing, which by the way are working great for me, haven't had any more strange wear patterns since I started using them.
BTW do you other DIY guys change your valves?

Re: Tyre prices - faark!
Just bought some Super Corsa's from Australian Tyre Warehouse. I've got a track day coming up.
With the exchange rate as it is, it worked out $40 more to get them from Aus than the US atv place mentioned earlier in the thread. For $40 I'd rather support an Aussie business.

$40 dollars isn't much but back when the exchange rate was better we were getting front and rear for the price of a rear! Delivered.

This came with my bar and it's way better than anything else I've found but, as you said , the shipping may kill it. Give them an email. It may be okay with their Australian warehouse. http://www.nomartirechanger.com/product_p/sp-lube-paste.htm
I was reusing the valves till the top crown broke off one, so I had to chuck and refit a new stem.

19000km's on a set of tyres! I get 5000km on the pr2's, get some levers and fit them yourself. Use some silicone spray or detergent to get them on, Balance them on the axle, Piece of piss.
