SA / VIC get together in Edenhope VIC, RD1 May 23rd/24th

First topic message reminder :

As posted in the VIC Ride page:

I was chatting to Rayman about doing a overnighter for the SA members sometime this year, he suggested Mt Gambier, I was thinking Mid Nth of SA.
His idea of Mt Gambier got me thinking, we could do a SA / VIC get together somewhere about 1/2 way between Adelaide & Melbourne.
I've had a bit of a look and this little gem popped up, Lake Wallace Hotel Edenhope, about 390km each way, $30 a room inc continental breakfast

Would any of the VIC members be up for it a bit later in the year? Easy morning ride to Edenhope, check in, go for a ride or just relax and talk shit, head home Sunday or if you can get Monday off stay a extra night. Who knows, we might even be able to talk Paul into this one as well

No hurry Paul, I reckon we'll give them a call about a month out, hopefully in the next couple of weeks may mates and madmax's mate will know if they are going or not

I thought it was a ride up saturday ............drink & chat......ride back sunday

I think I recall Bryan say he was staying somewhere else on the way Friday night near the GOR and not going straight to Edenhope??  You might be there by yourself on the Friday if you head down then.

Plan is if the weather is good for Maybe_Mike and myself to leave here Friday morning and head down the GOR, stopping somewhere along there Friday night then meeting up at Edenhope Saturday afternoon. If the weather is crap it will be express to Edenhope on the Saturday.

Which way are you planning to ride back home? If I decide to ride to Melbourne, I think id be going via Ballarat

I pick the lower route back. Going past Ballarat is mostly freeway and boring as bat shit!

But I'll be riding shitty back roads all the way to Edenhope!

A lot of that is the Glenelg hwy, not exactly a back road.
And better than falling asleep on the freeway

Bryan's right, just because it's not a main interstate Highway doesn't mean it's a bad road, I wish we had another option other than the Dukes/Riddoch Highways or the Princess Highway
