SA / VIC get together in Edenhope VIC, RD1 May 23rd/24th

First topic message reminder :

As posted in the VIC Ride page:

I was chatting to Rayman about doing a overnighter for the SA members sometime this year, he suggested Mt Gambier, I was thinking Mid Nth of SA.
His idea of Mt Gambier got me thinking, we could do a SA / VIC get together somewhere about 1/2 way between Adelaide & Melbourne.
I've had a bit of a look and this little gem popped up, Lake Wallace Hotel Edenhope, about 390km each way, $30 a room inc continental breakfast

Would any of the VIC members be up for it a bit later in the year? Easy morning ride to Edenhope, check in, go for a ride or just relax and talk shit, head home Sunday or if you can get Monday off stay a extra night. Who knows, we might even be able to talk Paul into this one as well

If anyone else would like to do May or June, I'd go back again in August (or maybe Sept) as well to meet up with others, $30 a night and a couple of tank fulls of fuel isn't going to break the bank.

I'm in for both times Chook. The only no go for me is the June long weekend (6th - 8th). May/June and Aug/Sept all good.

Time to pick a date and make it happen.

I spoke to a mate last night who is a member of the Australian HD forums and stays there  every year with them.

He said it's a good little pub in a quiet town, friendly publicans and staff, rooms are ok, clean (not fancy) separate bathrooms/toilets down the passage, good food and usually the more you put over the bar/food etc the less the room will cost

Well, if Ewok's going rooms will be $2.37.

Im thinking we should plan for that weekend but don't book anything. That way if someone upsets the weather gods beforehand we can bail out at the last minute.

Well not every day, just most.

I've changed the name to reflect the date

madmax has 1 keen to go, that's plenty for a overnight catch up.

Once Paul gets back from his dirty week or 2 away we'll find out if he can go, you never know, a couple more of you might finally get to meet him


I'm not expecting the Ritz at $30pn, as long as it has a hot shower, clean reasonably comfy bed, good food and cold beer I'm happy. If we don't like it we'll try somewhere else next time.

Ok, I've put it on the calendar at home. That means it is official.

If it's not on the calendar, it's not happening (and I get in trouble for not being organised!).
