Same weight. Same suspension. Same frame. Same brakes. Same candle in the front. Daggy looking fairing mods. Underwhelming colours.
Seriously nothing new there. Not even a mention of a more useful first gear.
Suzuki have lost the plot and its hard for me to say that after 20yrs of Suzuki ownerships and a lifetime of admiring their gear above all others.

Nothing there to make me consider updating, the current version looks a lot better imho
Re: B1250S gets a facelift for 2015
So after 7 years we've seen a new upper fairing and a painted engine, what progress, those boys in R&D must really be under some pressure.
Even Apple have upgraded their phones 6 times in that period.

Re: B1250S gets a facelift for 2015
I like, the current shape looks pretty good and the side shot doesn't do it justice.
Looks like air scoops in the black region of the fairing (not sure what they do), it's something different.
I don't know why we need Suzuki to radically change the Bandit every few years, it's a good product so just evolve it!
Look at the Porsche 911 shape, not too much changes year to year.
I've been a Suzuki customer since 2000 and at the moment am happy to continue to be for years to come.
An RF600 and two Bandits later with minimal problems and thousands and thousands of fantastic riding kilometres , i'll definately stick wit Suzuki.
I still look at the menu of other bikes on offer but am happy with my current decision of Suzuki!
Each to their own though aswell.

Its more Camry than ever.
There's no mention of price but seriously how cheap must these be to produce?
Frame, suspension and brakes are old tech.
Yes thay may work. Yes the bike might still be considered good value but they're less inspiring each year.
Considering that most people buy one then chuck $2000 plus at them in quick time for "mods" the good value deminishes quickly.
Re: B1250S gets a facelift for 2015
Suzuki R&D is not doing enough. The opposition (both Kawasaki and Honda) are offering quick release fully integrated panniers on their sports-tourers, and easy access to rear-shock preload. Another option they could offer (ie at additional cost if the buyer so chooses) is a belly-pan. Suzuki are falling behind in these areas, as well as not addressing previous shortcomings in the model. The world moves on Mr Suzuki, and eventually 'cheap' doesn't mean value for money.
If I was replacing with another sports-tourer, these factors would be seriously taken into consideration - right now, I'd buy the 2014 Kawasaki Ninja 1000, even though 2013 models are still available and are substantially cheaper. Kawasaki has made some really good improvements on the 2014 model and it makes it attractive to pay the additional cost over a cheaper 2013 runout special.
Lift your game on the Bandit Suzuki and do proper evolution updates, not cosmetic.

Re: B1250S gets a facelift for 2015
Just looking around I am hard press to see anything other than my Bandit that was built in 2007 and I'm still using regularly. Says heaps for how good it was back then (or my lack of embracing modern styling ). I have no intention of upgrading as I'm more than happy with how I have my seven year old beast sorted, however.....
Advances in brakes, suspension, engine management, lighting, even horns should mean that some of these would be added to the 2014 version, unfortunately by the sound of things Suzuki only reckons a new bikini fairing is all that needed improving, and even that I'm not that fussed over.

Ram air? Probably not.
Yeah, looks like the only real change is the fairing. This is probably consistent with the longer model update/facelift cycles that have been implemented in the post-GFC world.

Re: B1250S gets a facelift for 2015
front air vents will be fake, like on the GSX
black engine = cheaper to produce as all B1250s now painted the same colour.
Stick with all the old bits = also cheaper to produce as no retooling required.
Get rid of R+D = another cost saving.
Jack the price up because they expect customers to pay more because its "a new model"

The blurb says the vents are only to smooth airflow around/through the fairing.

That could be true considering the amount of difference the small vent at the bottom of the screen makes!Tag wrote:The blurb says the vents are only to smooth airflow around/through the fairing.
Re: B1250S gets a facelift for 2015
well that's a huge disappointment for me. I would have loved a major update, the Ninja 1000 looks like a decent replacement but I cant stand looking at a green bike

The Ninja1000 was on my list but I found a better bike.V17R wrote:well that's a huge disappointment for me. I would have loved a major update, the Ninja 1000 looks like a decent replacement but I cant stand looking at a green bike
Ninja has to be worked too hard to get the most out of it. Finished a little under done a especially the lower fairings at the front. Priced the same as a lot of bikes. A nice looking rig though.

Re: B1250S gets a facelift for 2015
Most of the blurb apart from the fairing sounds like the current model .................I would presume the new model will be coming to OZ

Re: B1250S gets a facelift for 2015
I was wondering the same thing Paul, Suzuki AU seem to have lost interest in the Bandit, hopefully it was just while they "developed" the new model
Re: B1250S gets a facelift for 2015
Yea not totally sold on the "updates" think the current one is a much nicer looking rig, that front bikini fairing doesn't look right,
