Magic from the hands of Phil Tainton
Just dropped off the Bandit yesterday to Phil Tainton Racing for a little massaging around the exhaust and fueling, I'm really excited and very much looking forward to throwing a leg over when I get it back towards the end of the week to sample the results. I'm getting the PCV installed as well as the Delkevic headers then the whole lot tuned and to suit. Already have the K&N installed, Pair system blocked off and secondaryectomy done.
Braided Venhill brake lines front and back done with thanks to Peter at Kenma Australia, Stainless radiator cover by Beowulf, Renthal Bars installed, headlight protector from Australian Motorcycle Headlight Protectors www.amhp.com.au/ installed, Narva Plus 120 headlights bulbs installed to shed some light on things, and Pro-oiler installed but still have to set it up correctly.
Next on the list is getting the suspension set for my 115kg weight plus riding gear.

I've got the osram 120s which I believe Narva rebrand in my GMAC and my wife's VW jetta. Think close to his without the light scatter. The light is probably close to 4500k so fairly white. Can't comment on how they go in the bike as I have ran hid for a few years

He does brilliant work, I wish I lived in Victoria.
Can't wait to see the results.
I love their work, I remember what they did to Rapid Magazines GSX 1400. From 112 hp to 160 hp.

And their work on 1250 bandits. From 108hp to 140hp

I've never seen a stock 1250 Bandit quoted at 108hp. Officially 95hp.
And herein lays the pissing contests that are peak dyno figures...........

funny this should be brought up.
I`ve just put these into Gen1, 7" round headlight,in the quest for better lighting, and didn`t notice any difference at all.
For the price of these things, I was hoping for something. They have gone to the the box with all the other gimmick bulbs I have.
So I went to what really works, and thats higher watts.
Sorry about hi-jack.

Sounds like a bit of wishful thinking , or lack of research , re 108 hp ( except if it was a black one maybe )2wheelsagain wrote:Greg62 wrote:He does brilliant work, I wish I lived in Victoria.

Re: Magic from the hands of Phil Tainton
So if their base point of 108hp is reading 13hp higher, then that makes the 140 actually 127hp. Pretty close to what my dyno readout was, so I just saved myself over $1000 not installing the cams, I'm happy
Re: Magic from the hands of Phil Tainton
I was down there yesterday arvo and spoke to the mechanic working on my bike and I was told that when they start the dyno process they do a baseline run before anything else. So keeping that in mind we'll see what numbers they come up with.
