Aldi Bike Gear Aug 9th
A little birdy has told me Aldi will be having their bike range on sale on/from Sat 9 Aug.
I've commuted in an Aldi textile jacket for a year now and its a bloody ripper.
Only down side is the velcro is losing its "stick" but its been waterproof and warm and has armour in the correct places.
The rest of the range should be ok as well. I probably wouldnt trust my melon in one of their lids but they ar AS compliant.
I'll be after a new rear stand for the VTR (pads not knobs) and I'll be looking at the textile jackets again and probably a pair of gloves if they fit.
Keep an eye on your local Aldi store and grab a bargin.

You might have to wheel the TRX up to the big smoke Dave
Re: Aldi Bike Gear Aug 9th
True. In the past in Cbr the Aldi bike gear sales have proven very popular. Most stuff gets sold quickly.

Re: Aldi Bike Gear Aug 9th
Chris and I bought Aldi helmets, last time around.
For $70 with a bag and a spare visor. I thought I would take a punt.
To be honest. I haven't been able to fault them. Comfortable as my Agv, but quieter. Removable cheek pads. Vents. D rings.
They do everything a helmet should.
The only thing that I had an issue with was the butterfly decals.
Chris bought a black and pink one, mine is black and silver. So nowhere near as girly.
At $70 I may buy another, just to have another two spare visors.

Little Tail bags that strap onto pillion seat got good reviews too.

I have just had a look at the broucher and it looks like there is a fair bit of gear, jackets textile and leather, stands, tank bags that turn into back packs, Kevlar jeans gloves. etc

Wouldn't mind Brian, but being as you're 2 1/2 foot shorter than me, I think it might look a bit weird on me!

Good luck - we've had that same rumor in the Valley for years. There's even a site being mentioned.

It is odd.
I thought that, being a German company, Aldi would have felt right at home in SA.
Be sure to grab a packet of their 40% chock chip cookies, when they come to town. They are awesome.

Re: Aldi Bike Gear Aug 9th
So did anyone buy anything at Aldi. I went there yesterday for some standard shopping and it had been plundered and pillaged by bikers. Not a jacket, pant, boot, glove, not even a sock. Ziltch. I wasn't after anything so it didn't matter to me, it just looked funny as the whole section was missing, even the bins they display it in.
Something however caught my attention. Push up bars. no, not bras, bars. Now I'm not join' to get down and give anyone " 20" . But they had really good grips on them that I think would be an equivalent to grip puppies. Said puppies are $30 a pair. These fake puppies are $6.99 a pair at the moment. Im gonna be a real tightass and wait till they're throwing them out for $3 and buy a few sets. Which won't be long as there are about 50 sets of them there, no one has bought them. Two minutes with a hacksaw through the bar, slide them off and hey presto. If your near an Aldi drop in and have a look and confirm for me if I'm right in thinking this may work or I'm a complete imbecile.

Mate, 2WA's original post said 9th August - you sure your local Aldi wasn't just putting the bins out and hadn't filled them yet?
