Aldi Catalogue
Not sure if it is across the country but the latest Aldi catalogue has a heap of bike gear listed as starting next Sat.
Bike stands, tie downs, disk locks, clothing, helmets etc. They will never sell gear that fits me but by all accounts what they sell is pretty good quality although I'm not sure if my scone is only worth $69. I asked my partner and daughter what they thought my head was worth but I didn't get a figure

Aldi bike gear
DON'T even THINK about buying a $70 helmet.. the research and materials are obviously far less superior to the well known AS helmets. The socks are a great buy, the jacket and pants i bought for daughter (jacket fits me!) are well made ad the wet weather outfits are good too.
Ive been wondering when the next bike sale is on

No Aldi here /I would have thought the helmets must have passed aust. standards to be sold in aust.

Helmets would have to pass AS to be sold in Oz.
I rate thier summer gloves highly. At $29 they were a true bargain.

Their helmets claim to be AS certified so pass "minimum" requirements.
Re: Aldi Catalogue
Yes, not sure if I would use one of their helmets for bike work, but if you had to set up a team for a sport that requires helmets on the track (i.e. pit crew) they should be okay.
What about their kidney belts for long distance riding, would they help ?

AS/NZS 1698 Had one a year. ABS Plastic German Certified, made in china. Plastic so very light comes with spare clear visor Helmet bag spare cheekpads. I use mine as a spare on long trips and for picking up chicks wif fat heads.
Quieter than my shark and doesnt fog up if you get the vents right. Is cheap but better than a open face or old expensive helmet.
Did u know that every time you sneeze with your lid on and dont let the sneeze out but contain it within the body it can make the Helemt 2% less effective . If you fart in your lid with your visor down this can cause your helmet to also become totally defective depending on vent settings. Beware.

I grabbed a pair of the summer gloves, bargain at $30. Very comfy.
The winter jackets looked pretty good value but I don't need one at the moment.

Re: Aldi Catalogue
would you really trust a Standard which was written back in 1989???
consider, most technologies for helmet manufacture have since long surpassed this manufacturing standard, but due to the age of the law cheap helmets still meet the minimum requirement.
now this is just a personal opinion but I would not trust my head in something that meets minimum requirements from over 20 years ago.

I reckon I'd shoot any bugger that put his arse near my helmet! I like nice clear air in there!

I got a pair of the winter textile pants and they are the warmest pants ever. Even on the coldest winter day my legs never get cold and they even have knee and hip protection in them. Very good value for the money.

Did anyone score any of the new aldi motorcycle socks? I have four pairs of the grey/white ones, but the new ones are black. I missed out big time, but hubby scored a paddock stand on Saturday (His Triumph doesnt have a centre stand) but didnt look for my socks!
