Weekend ride to Bendemeer from Newcastle
Recycled & I are heading to Bendemeer for an overnight stay at the pub. (Separate beds )
Leaving Sat morn from Shell Hexham 9:30am returning Sun morn.
Lambs Valley way through Dungog, Buckets Way, Gloucester, Thunderbolts Way, Port Stephens Cutting. Different roads on way home.
Would like it if you and any riding pals came along.

Hey Mark, I checked with a couple of usual suspects but they wimped out, so just you and me so far.
Re: Weekend ride to Bendemeer from Newcastle
We may have a few riders by Saturday.
Or it may be just us.
Either way it will be fun.
Haven't had a good spin since we went to Nowendoc.

Sorry fellas, but there's no way I'm riding up through Ebor at this time of year, I'd end up with frost bite!

There's a better alternative, come via the Oxley.Kiwisteve wrote:Sorry fellas, but there's no way I'm riding up through Ebor at this time of year, I'd end up with frost bite!
What time should we expect you?
Re: Weekend ride to Bendemeer from Newcastle
Just for shits and giggles I checked Google maps and it's only 900km for me to the Shell servo. I was half tempted

It pisses me off sometimes. I often think, when trundling along at Nanny State speed limits, "If I were on an Autobahn, then I could be there in an hour"
You could be here in five or so hours if you could sit on 180 up the Hume.

If you leave now....
I just looked at the intended route http://goo.gl/maps/Xaw1c
I think we should leave a bit earlier.
PS I did Coffs to Tamworth yesterday in the Falcon Wagon, no wonder it felt a bit strange, had a service on Monday and they had put 45 psi in the back tyres and 40 in the front. Unfortunately the front left had picked up a nail in Coffs and was down to the mid 20s by the time I got to Armidale.

I think doing 240kph+ on the Autobahn it might still take a little longer.....
Edit ...teaser....
Re: Weekend ride to Bendemeer from Newcastle
Please note, all the hoards of "All Weather Riders" keen to come along, departure time has been brought forward half an hour to take into account the Snow Chain stop once we get above 600m.
Now leaving Shell Hexham at 9:30am.

Re: Weekend ride to Bendemeer from Newcastle
We ended up avoiding the high country on Thunderbolts Way and got some very nice weather out around Bylong.
In the end a vote was held at Scone since it was 2 hours to home or 2 hours to our destination and we decided that it was a day ride.
In the end a great time was had by all (both), thanks Bosco.

Nice one Pete.
A great way to escape the rain and soak up some sunshine. I told Chris that the weather would be great. Lol
Thanks for another interesting route and cudos on the map. Always a nice touch.
