Solo Seat Rego

Saw post from Gus (12-5-11) asking about single seat rego.





Changing the Rego category in Qld involved installing the seat cowl ($200 delivered from US) then taking off the pillion pegs and taking to bike to an authorised workshop to have a Certificate of Modification issued and a compliance plate applied, changing the seats from 2 to 1. That cost $50. The subsequent yearly rego dropped from $430 to $220.

The annual insurance is also reduced substantially.

Worthwhile if you don't use the pillion.

Four questions .(started with 2 )

How and where do they attach the solo plate .?

With that seat cowl ,will a ventura rack fit OVER it .

If Vico doesnt have solo rego , how do we go travelling interstate .

Does that cowl have the pillion seat underneath it ?

It's on the left subframe rail under the sidecover

Yep; took the rack off to fit the panniers

Qld reg is legitimate across Oz & its' territorities

Nope. The back half of the seat is replaced by the cowl.
