GS500 dropped from Suzuki's lineup

In my local Stealership yesterday when I commented that the New GS500F had a different (better looking) shaped fairing on it,

The salesman told me that Suzuki has decided to not produce the GS500/F anymore. I'm not sure if he meant worldwide or just supplied to Australia.
Apparently the Ninja 300 has killed off sales.

What, after a run of a mere 34 years (orginally launched as the GS450 in 1980)?

That would be a shame

If it's not selling, it's not selling. Sentimentality will see a business go under. You've got to make bikes people want to buy.

True but I think Suzuki could have revamped it by making it fuel injected and adding digital instruments

He went on to say that he didn't know what they would, or if they would replace it.
Their only other Lams road bikes are the 250cc Inazuma, the Lams Gladius and the Lams GSX650F
