Gear indicator GIPRO with ATRE
I am looking at buying a gear indicator: the GIPRO with ATRE
Any recommendations re LCD colour blue or red - which is easier to read?

Re: Gear indicator GIPRO with ATRE
I have the GIPRO on my Bandit. It shows a large red digit for gear selected.
The case is very compact and neat yet shows a big highly visible and unmistakable gear number.
Has been totally reliable - no hickups.
I had it fitted at new on mine about 9 months ago. I wouldn't be without one on my machine.
Recommend? YES.
Cheers GG

Just wondering why anyone would require one? Is there a benefit I don't know about? Surely wheel speed and engine rpm, feel and sound should be enough. Maybe I'm missing something?

No need for a gear indicator if you always know what gear you are in. I don't always know.
Perhaps having a gear indicator prevents me from learning the sound, rpm, speed relationship - good point!!

I fully agree JTB.
I reckon I wanted one for a week after getting the Bandit.
I'm usually in 5th or 6th gear so a TRE isnt any use to me either.
Re: Gear indicator GIPRO with ATRE
I'm really only using the gear indicator to confirm I'm in first after filtering to the front at traffic lights.
Nothing worse that when filtering passed all the cars you then stall it on take off because you were too much of a dill to not check what gear your in. Yes I know I could check with my foot, but that requires effort.
That said, I doubt I would add one to a bike that didn't have it already

Re: Gear indicator GIPRO with ATRE
When I bought my GPI (Healtech), the Aussie agent didn't have any color other than red so I bought that rather than wait who-knows-how-long for one to turn up from the UK. Or maybe I should have bought it from the UK in the first place, but I thought I'd support the Aussie. I haven't had any readability issues with it and I've gotten used to the idea that red in my peripheral vision doesn't automatically mean that there's something wrong. I like it!

I've got one. Love it, I was always looking for 7th 8th 9th & 10th gear out on the highway.
Blue LCD
Does anyone have the blue LCD - are they a bit hard to read?

I have the blue one. It's very easy to read, So bright I turned it down.
I'll take some photo's after work for you.
ATRE worth it??
Is the ATRE worth the extra money or is a DS with no ATRE good enough?

In my & my very experienced tuners opinion, Yes ATRE works. But he has seen a shit load of the cheaper ones that are faulty.
With the Shed light OFF, The GP indicator dims itself and is adjustable. So it's not in your face bright.
With the Shed light ON, The GP indicator gets brighter. So it can be seen on a sunny day.

Ditto Reardo.. Sometimes go looking for that extra gear - just have to get used to it not being 'immediate' when you change gears (it takes a moment to show the gear number).
