Does the 1250S have a Gear Position Indicator?
Howdy all...
I was surfing the Suzuki Australia site today and happened to check out the gallery photo's for the Bandit 1250, instead of for the 1250S, which is what I'm waiting to be delivered.
One of the images was this.....
.....which shows a GPI incorporated into the LCD.
I noticed on a GSX1250F that it has the GPI as a little window incorporated into the tacho.
So, does the 1250S have the same panel as the 1250?
Cheers!

Unless they changed the dash for 2011 which by the smoozooki website doesn't appear to have been done then no it doesn't have a gear posn idicator

Wow!
So they're actually using a different instrument panel between the two Bandit models, huh?
I was kinda' excited seeing the GPI on the 1250 gallery, hoping it might also be on the 1250S.
Coming from 5 cogs, I bet I forget there's a 6th!

Firstly the GSX isnt marketed as a Bandit and it never should be..................
The S has the better looking dash anyway and no GPI but you dont need one anyway. You'll have so much torque you'll be looking for 7th in the early stages.
After a while you'll get used to the feel of the engine and after 3 years you'll get sick of seeing where Suzuki cut corners. Still like mine though

Nah, I was actually comparing the Bandit 1250 & 1250S. I mentioned the GSX cos'..... erm...... anyway....
Still surprised the "S" model misses out on the GPI that the "non-S" comes with

Hate it. If indeed that is the naked bandit gauges.
Cheers!

The 2010 1250s definitely didn't come with a GPI - if you want one you have to fit it yourself. This is a Healtech simply mounted using velcrose:

Re: Does the 1250S have a Gear Position Indicator?
I'm amazed that they didn't put it on the S model. My 2011 naked has one. I have never had a bike with one before and didn't think it would be an issue, but I do glance down at it at times, saves looking for another gear that doesn't exist. I need a yoshi so I can hear the engine.

Finally picked up the new baby yesterday and did 200 k's last night - first service (not with the useless dealer I bought it from!) booked for next Thursday.
Yep, she has the "old" dash, which I really like actually - informative and easy to read.
Thanks for all the feedback guys.

Do you realise that the right hand side riser top is on upside down ? The dots on them should always be at the top. Sorry Dave, this was ment for Ewok.

The things that show up under a flash! - didn't actually realise that I'd put it back upside down after fiddling with it - never noticed it in the flesh until you mentioned it here. Looks pretty symetrical though so I guess it makes no difference?

NO, it does make a difference. That is why they are marked. And when you screw them down, you tighten the front down first then the back bolts. Cheers.
