BANDIT 1250 LONG TRAVEL BRAKE LEVER
I have fixed my long travel front brake lever problem. It is a very easy no expense fix, could not believe it was this simple.
Ok what you do is pull both front brake callipers off the brake disc & then pull the brake lever all the way to the handle bar & release.
Only do this once then put the callipers back on the disc & bolt them up. JOB DONE. Now you have a nice full brake lever.

Mmmmmm ,but then the calipers will not go back onto the disk .The calipers only get pushed back a tiny amount unless you have warped disk .

They are snug to get back on you may need to push pistons back a little. Now when I spin my wheel the pads rub on the disc never did this before. I've gone for a 80km ride & it is great.

Been there. Done that. Give it a week of normal use and you'll be back to square one im sorry to say.
The best way to fix the Bandit long lever travel is to sell the Bandit.
The cheaper way is braided lines. The cheapest way is to live with it and brake accordingly. Most of us take option 3.

It had a long travel lever not a spongy one. Braided lines won't fix a long travel lever.

It has worked. Then as the brake pads wear down the lever will get longer, then I will repeat the procedure again.

Zip tie the brake lever on overnight. Makes a big difference.

Re: BANDIT 1250 LONG TRAVEL BRAKE LEVER
My experiences with the B1250 brakes indicate that the real fix is an alternative master cylinder. Currently using a Brembo RCS19 but believe that there are cheaper choices. Would try the m/c off a ZX10R, Z1000, or CBR from the years that use the same Tokico calipers as the gixxers. Already know that the lines will reach and while I have not tried this combo...the other combos I have tried indicate that this SHOULD work.
Galfer SS lines made little or no difference. Put that down to the rubber hoses being near new and in good shape...'if it ain't broke'...
