Aluminium Exhausts Empty Aluminium Exhausts

Post  2010banditsa Thu 13 May 2010, 10:11 pm

not being one that can be bothered cleaning or polishing (anything at all), im thinking the only way to go if i dont want a shiny stainless or black exhaust is to buy one made out of aluminium or titanium. Is there anything wrong with aluminium exhausts? i always think of it as being soft but i have no idea how it performs in this scenario. Any thoughts?

sorry to get it back on the list, i know exhausts have been done to death and then a bit more, but is aluminum such a bad idea for someone who cant be stuffed cleaning, let alone polishing?

I can't say I have any experience with aluminium exhausts (or that I know of any), but it sounds like titanium might be suitable. You still need to keep it moderately clean to protect it but I don't think polishing is required...

There's a few titanium options on the market but it depends on what you're willing to spend. Here's a couple of examples:

Akropovic Titanium Full System

Yoshimura R77 Titanium Slip-on

That Akropovic full system adds a decent power increase - check out the dyno graph! Priced at $1900 and aparently there is one in stock in Australia at the moment.

This is an eBay aluminium can. Sounded good too. Think it was around $140.
