Bandit Ignition Switch
Found out something new last night. I pulled into the shed in the dark and my shed sensor lights didn't come on (something else to fix). So I went through the demount and lock-up motions in the dark, thinking I'd locked the steering. But this morning the key wouldn't insert into the ignition. After some fiddling I found that the top part of the ignition switch cyclinder can rotate independently of the bottom part, meaning the slot doesn't line up all the way down, and the key won't go in until the top part is rotated so that it aligns. Can't see how this might happen in the daylight so you might never come across it.

Overheard on the top floor of the Suzuki Building:
Boss, Boss, we have to recall all the Bandits ! The ignition switches are missing a screw and the tops spin round.
Hmm...ridiculous ! We'll offer it as an added security feature....
Accounts, put the price up on the Bandits, engineering have just added another feature.....
Problem solved

Re: Bandit Ignition Switch
The other one I like is the parking-lights position being located past the lock position. So you give the key a firm twist
to make sure she's well and truly rammed home into the steering-locked position, then come out the next morning
to find your battery is stone dead ...

Re: Bandit Ignition Switch
that's been a feature on bandits since at least the Gen2 models. I thought everyone knew about it.
