Ok Gus. You are the man with all the no-how. Do I have to go to a dealer to get the switch? or have you worked it out and made one?

You can get the dealer mode switches on ebay or last I checked (a few years ago now) dealers sold them for about $40

Thanx dhula. I just bought one. Now what happens if the display shows an error? Is there a way to clear the error code other than having to buy the obc tool?

You can only read the error if it is current (ie: happening now), the gauges (via the dealer mode switch) will not retrieve old/stored codes.

If you find a code and have fixed the problem, as soon as you cycle the ign switch (on - off - on) the code display will go away if the problem no longer exists, it will however remain stored in the ECU until cleared, this is no problem tho and the bike will work as it should.
Apparently the ECU will dump it's stored codes if the battery is disconnected for more than 5 mins or so but I've found on occasion that this is not true and the codes are still there so the best way is to use SDS or some other code reader/clearing software (Biketech, healtech etc).
