front wheel removal
Another Bandit Newbie Question
Okay, so I took my front (stem lift) stand and tried lifting the front end, it lifts it slightly (But the wheel is still contacting the ground(This is both on the centre stand and using the rear paddock stand), but I doubt it is enough to get the front wheel off.
Does anyone have any tricks for removing the front wheel?
Do I get a new front stand (Slightly taller)?

Re: front wheel removal
you could try putting it on the center stand & use a trolly jack or similar with a block of wood under the bike frame or somewhere else sturdy by under the motor & jack it up ....or get someone to push down on the back of the bike while it's on the center stand & then block it up under the same points using a wooden block on top . there is very little weight especially once the wheel is out to support .The advantage of the jack is you can raise & lower the bike to assist in the wheel removal / refitting .

I watched the guy at my dealership change my tyres. He used the centre stand and a jack under the headers

I have a very technical way. Its called kicking a 4 ltr can of paint under the headers as i push down on the tail section .

I got one of my dirt magnets to sit on the pillion seat! Its just enough to get the front wheel out......and slide the paddock stand under.
I dont like the trolley jack under the headers idea. Had a bike shop do that while the bike was on its side stand !

Well that's just bloody stupid!
No prob with the jack as long as you;
A, use the centre stand
B, use a block of wood on top of jack
C, don't jack too high, just enough to have the rear wheel touch the ground.
And I tried your method once, my 14yr old wasn't heavy enough!

One of the local bike shops here in Coffs does a similar thing to Hammy, the good old block & tackle from the rafters over their bike stands
