Delkevic Headers Installed
First topic message reminder :
Up and out into the shed at 5am this morning. Bugger this Heat Wave. Everything went pretty smoothly. I think I only swore once....or twice. The Delkevic kit is very good. Nice welds and bends. Simple to follow instructions. All you need included. Header gaskets, silicon goo, springs, and a spring puller. The collection pipe comes with the threaded hole to fit the O2 sensor back in. I have done this as the O2 sensor eliminator that I have ordered has not arrived yet. The weight difference is HUGE ! Christ that original set up is heavy. Saves me going on a New Years diet. . Only took me about 2 hours to complete the fit. No leaks and a much deeper note than before. As I have said before. Great kit. If you are contemplating new headers. These are a fantastic buy at the price. And by the way. Only took SEVEN days to arrive. Heres a couple of pics: Test ride: WoW. Even with just the old O2 sensor reinstalled the difference is enormous. Feels and sounds great. I think I will put her on a Dyno soon .

Re: Delkevic Headers Installed
My Yoshi is on the outside - think that is the normal spot for them:
Here is a shot of the lower exhaust bracket (for Arrows - but should be the same for yours).
I don't remember any problems getting it to fit, I think I did loosen the can and slip pipe connection just to have it twist and "settle" where it wanted without any undue strain.

It's been a marathon but at least you can see the finish line now.

If I knew for sure where the OEM mounting bracket went, I can nail why this Yoshi no longer goes on.
The mount itself is about 25mm deep, so that would be the anomoly.
Trying to get a bit of thin walled stainless pipe now so that I can extend the neck on the Yoshi.
My mistake - went and had a look instead of just relying on the grey matter...
It is on the inside, and that corresponds with the original setup, here is a better look...
And from the manual:

Re: Delkevic Headers Installed
Crimsondawn, How do you find the Holeshot Corbin seat, Ive heard they can be rock hard. I would really like to find a Sargent for the 1200 but its like trying to pick fly shit out of pepper with boxing gloves on, impossible. Its a lot of money to fork out without trying one first. Maybe Barry Mck might be kind enough to let me try his at the Bandit get together. Sorry for hijacking the thread, I have a Delkevic exhaust on my 1200 FatPete and it all went together well with my Yoshi slip on. Man, those stock headers are a boat anchor.

Re: Delkevic Headers Installed
yeh jimmytb when i bought my bike it has the yoshi can on it and he has had the headers ceramic coated and its a shame to change them as they definitely look real good.did you notice any performance gain over the factory headers?

Re: Delkevic Headers Installed
FatPete, I did notice the weight difference, the performance gained a little bit mid range. Yours look good in black, its not that necessary in my opinion. You know when you just tinker for the sake of it, well I was at that stage. I won't be doing anything else.

No probs JimmyJimmy the Boy wrote:Maybe Barry Mck might be kind enough to let me try his at the Bandit get together.
I got my seat at a very good price from the dad of one of the members on here. I don't find it too hard at all, in fact I bought an Air Hawk at the same time and have not used it since I fitted the Corbin.
Re: Delkevic Headers Installed
I read that the Corbin seat doesnt settle into your shape until its done at least 1500 miles... thats a long time trying to adjust to a new seat

Re: Delkevic Headers Installed
I didn't find that, day one, ride one, was great from the start.
I think it depends on your riding posture and your size, someone a bit taller or shorter than me (178cm) might have different experiences.
The seat is 1" lower than standard so tall riders might not like it - hence why I got mine cheap .
Sorry about the thread hijack ....

How'd you guess Paul - what you think so far....
No, actually I was parked next to the ute at the Ulveston Bike Show earlier this year, some really spectacular bikes, old, new, homemade etc.
