Gold and Black Bandit
I was thinking about the chain and sprocket replacement that is coming up some time in the near future. I quite like the gold look against the black of the 2010+ Bandit and naturally though black bandit with gold chain and rear sprocket. So then i started thinking of adding gold bar end weights, being cheap to buy. But then I recalled those ZX12's and VFR800's with their gold rims - hmm might they look good on the Bandit with the aforementioned bling if I removed the tyres, brake rotors and had them painted? Anyone good with photoshop to do a mockup?

Re: Gold and Black Bandit
You talking about full rims or just the outer part?
Personally I think gold rims, spokes & hub would be to much. Gold rim stickers on black rims would look ok though.

Not a bad idea there 2WA - certainly cheaper than fully painted rims which is what I was thinking. Hmmm....

How about a gold tip on Mr Yoshi?
Re: Gold and Black Bandit
Ii say no! But, if the other bling stacks up, maybe i'll be forced to reconsider.

I dunno Gus. Masking off the tyre sounds like a painstaking job. Mind you, those gold ZX/VRF rim images are worse than an apple in the garden of Eden.

And the JP F1 cars as well - that's the kind of finished look I'm thinking of.

Then dont mask them up ,just wipe over-spay off with spray gun wash .Just place some rags on tyres to save effort . I just did a car rim while
it was on the car (no rags ) no problem. Remove disks ,spray ,clean up ,refit .

Now we're talking! This looks like a project while I'm on long service leave starting in two weeks time. Might have to do the levers as well.

You could brush paint the wheels with water paint ,gold, very roughly .Stand back ,see how you like it .Decide , wash water paint off .
I use this method often , saves making a " that looks crap" mistake with permanant paint .

Ok, I have gotten as far as buying the paint. Can't see much opportunity of using it though as the temperatures range from -5c to about +12c (not that it stays on the 'high' for long!). Might test it on the bar end weights to see what happens - I can always keep them in the house.
PS: is it possible to paint the levers or does it just wear off all patchy and look like crap?

Ewok I have halogen lamps you can borrow anytime at all. Still in the box, never used. Lets have a chat next weekend before the ride to the pub.
