5 Degree Timing Advancer.
Just recieved and fitted my "Dale Walker Holeshot Performance" 5* timing advancer. For all you 1200 owners out there who have not got one. GET ONE ! It is the best value for money that I have spent on the girl so far. Recommended in use with free flow exhaust and jet kit. Took all of ten minutes to fit. So easy. Bike was cold. Started in normal manner. Choke, no throttle. Fired up. Ran smoother than it has ever done on choke. Gradually turned off choke. Idled so sweet. Where I had been noticing little blips in the revs, around 1500, all gone. Smooth as silk. Road test: Seemed to me to pull harder. Run smoother, and even change up and down better than how she already did. I can definately say that it is a noticable improvement, without doubt. Dale Walker. You are a legend.

Is there a way to see if my bike has one of these? it has mods all over so dont want to buy one if it already has one. I think she needs a jet kit, but I may just buy the jets ive read they need.

Yes , just take off the r/h side timing cover and have a look. The genuine one will be stamped. As for your jets. Do you have a noticable flat spot ? Does she run rough ? A Dyno Jet kit does just not involve the jets. It contains different springs, neddles. primaries and mains. A good mechanic with a Dyno is the best option.

She has a marked stutter at slight throttle opening. Feels like idle circuit. After that shes fine, pulls like a school boy.

The timing advancer could help with the stutter.

Ive read you can slot the stock one. Its off to the dealer tomorrow for a couple of small fixups. Ive asked them to look at the stutter under warranty. Will see what they come up with. I dont trust dealer mechanics much.

Slotting the original would be one hell of a job. Cheaper just to get the Dale Walker one.

Re: 5 Degree Timing Advancer.
Ive not looked at one. Ive done things like that on cars. Your probably right though.
Im looking to buy this if the guy gets back to me, https://nswbandits.forumotion.net/t2147-1200-oem-air-filter-stage-1-jet-kit-holeshot-performance
My guess that will resolve most issues. But my bike has a loose exhaust joint under the motor that leaks a bit. That will also be stuffing things up so the dealer will be fixing that. It could be causing the lean condition.
