Hi from Melbourne
G'day all!
Picked up a K1 with just under 40k on the clocks almost 2 months ago for a bargain. My first foray intomulti inline 4 ownership, having always had twins (have a TRX850 and XS650 in the garage as well). So far enjoying the bike as my main commuter and also did a 3-day 1300km trip with some mates up to Corryong which it handled with ease. Great roads and got to use the bike as intended . Still getting used to the peg position as I'm used to rearsets (esp. in tight cornering). May look into rearsets down the track but at the same time can't complain about the riding position after munching those miles on the trip in total comfort. Only real issues so far are the smaller front sprocket which has the speedo/odo out, and the dynojet needles that I'm told are in it - running too rich for my liking. Will be pulling the carbs off first chance I get to confirm installed needles and jets so I can put it back to standard as a baseline.
Anyway, nice to find an Aussie Bandit forum, catch you 'round.

Welcome. I'm a big fan of the trx850. I see an immaculate red one some days on my way to work. Looks cool.

Thanks, I will get some photos of the bikes up soon, I've had the trx apart for ages fixing up a few issues but getting time to work on it has been difficult! Almost done now, just waiting on some small parts to come in. Looking forward to breaking it in again. Before the teardown I'd just put on flatslides and a full system so itching to get back on it! It's a black and red one, by no means immaculate but a good little thing. Here's an older pic of the xs650 from last years Broadford Bike Bonanza anyway:
