Our Next Overnighter Empty Our Next Overnighter

Post  Cameron Mon 19 Mar 2012, 6:43 pm

As i missed the Grumpy weekend away, and i am missing a weekend ride my dad and a few other are going on...
I think its time to do another overnighter!

I do an annual Tamworth ride...which i havnt done in 2 years...so im keen for that one.
Or we could do the ride south we did last year, though maybe getting cold that way by the time this ride is a go ahead.
Anyway, im easy for the destination. Doesnt worry me. As for the weekend..im easy with that as well.

Any body interested in another overnighter then?
All in say AYE!

I'm in thanks Cameron (depending on the date) - as I've decided against doing the East Farride to Lightning Ridge in May. And, contrary to popular opinion, I do not always bring the rain with me!

why not - actually i rather thought the run to narooma was good [ bring the olds this this time as well] but i dont mind where we go [not neville]. narooma isnt bad for participants from the nation's capital either

[also have a look at the photo of the triumph i took in the 'whos going to pits on 18th' topic - its the first decent pic i have taken]

In depending on the date. Work is getting out of control and eating far too much into my riding and drinking time.

Anyone got a suggestion for somewhere different? It's hard to please everyone, there's still Bendemeer, pub with undercover bike parking.
In the recent Cycletorque a readers letter was praising a pub at Walcha that's under new biker friendly management.

Have you done the Oxley, Cameron? You missed our last effort.

I like the idea of bendemeer I might use that as a overnighter and continue up to the Gold Coast

It's not a bad run from Walcha through Armidale to Grafton if you haven't done that before, Baz.

That is a brilliant bit of road Peter. I have only done it in a car but have always wanted to go back on the bike.

Sounds like (another) plan! Could be 'in' depending on the dates and location.. Question Walcha via the Oxley is a great run but may be a little far for a two day weekend.

Where ever and who ever goes keep the carrots away from Baz! Twisted Evil

I'd vote for any of those - although Gulgong is only a short ride for me and probably not worth an over-nighter.. Basketball

No dirt now, you just have to look out for rednecks in Ford utes.

This is my local area, Armidale to Ebor is do-able, just a bit rough. Ebor to Grafton is a top ride tho! A good ride from Coffs is up thru Dorrigo, North Dorrigo, Tyringham, Nymboida, (the Coaching Station), Grafton, (nearly), Glenreagh, (the Golden Dog Hotel), & back thru Nana Glen to Coffs. Not overnite for me, it takes about 3 hours without any stops, but good fun tho. Oh, there's also Juans Cafe at Dorrigo, Incorporating the worlds smallest M/C museum.

Any ideas on a date for this ride yet?

I want to do another overnighter before the winter chill kicks in here in tropical Canberra.

Those dates are ok - the 12/13th are best though...... I can alter my route to go via Blayney - Grenfell - Cowra and Forbes to make it around 400km each way from Katoomba....
