David from Adelaide
Hi,
My Name is David and I live in Adelaide.
I ride a 2008 Silver Bandit 1250 with ABS and lots of other mods.
Check out all the photos on http://users.adam.com.au/dyudkin/Bandit.html though have added the ZG touring screen and swapped over to a Zumo 550 GPS since they were taken.
It's great to have an Australian Bandit forum. Thanks for setting one up.
Cheers
David

I'm down south at Mitchell Park for another 8 weeks, then moving further south to Aberfoyle Park. I ride regularly with SABERS as I am their Secretary.

Wow ... I am officially impressed.
Love some of your mods.
Could you please tell us more about the gear LCD gizmo. How does it work? Is it accurate? Where I can get one and is it difficult to install?
Thanks

Thanks for the compliment.
The Gear indicator and ATRE unit comes from Dale Walker in the USA at Holeshot Performance. www.holeshot.com and he is a great guy and good supplier even to overseas buyers.
I love knowing what gear I am in and it works flawlessly, though i can not tell you how it works, it just does. Something to do with the electonics and gear position sensor i think. There is more info on Dales site.
Fitting, though I did not do it but was with a friend who did, is relatively simple as the unit is a plug and play. It does come with instructions and if you buy it from Dale, it also comes with the mounting bracket.
To fit you remove your tank, unplug a wiring harness plug and put the wiring plugs in line, one in and one out. You can not get it wrong as it will only go one way. Then you connect the red wire to the battery (through a fused ignition power source I think). It actually takes longer to remove and replace the tank and tidy up the wiring than it does to install the unit.
Cheers

Good to hear, David, and welcome.
Just for everyone else, Dale Walker seems to be the centre of a fairly extensive tuning and drag racing scene with Bandits in the US, and has heaps of performance goodies. There's a US Suzuki forum that focuses on Bandits and a few other models, and a read there is a real eye-opener. There are Bandit 1200s done up to well over 200 hp, for example!!!
Won't be getting anywhere near that radical with mine, but who knows, a tweak and a dyno here and there could be fun...
