Hi now I have the time I reckon its about time I introduced myself. Having grown up on dirt bikes in Broken Hill I never got around to getting a license. Always wanting to but my wife being an emergency nurse threatened me with divorce if I ever got a bike. With the introduction of LAMS I was keener than ever as it didn't mean I would have to got around like a circus bear on a tiny bike. It took the sudden death of a friend our age to change this. I said to her I didn't want to go through the pearly gates thinking I'd missed out. So she went and bought me a gs500f for my birthday and I got my license. She thought that bike would do me and really it was an honest worker. However, it was bland, it scarily ran out of front suspension pushing through a fast bend and it sounded so boring. So I decided that after my R date I was going to get a triumph sprint st or a bmw k1200s. I didn't look at the bandit as the suzuki I wanted was the sv1000 and that had gone out of production. Then my wife and I spent some time in Paris. I kid you not if you aren't riding a big scooter all you see is 650 bandits. So I decided that when we finally came back to Australia I would have a good look at it. I bought the first 2010 model in Adelaide without even riding it and have never regretted it. With such value I cannot understand why you would have anything else. So now:
GSF 1250 SA
Staintune pipe
Radguard
Bandit mania belly pan and hugger
Ventura Luggage
What next?
Cheers

Welcome to the forum and hello from your old home town.

I've got to do the Adelaide hills thing on the bike one day. Broken Hill Just don't have the roads to excite riders. Sad

Yeah we are really spoilt for choice here. The rough road to silverton wouldn't be too bad. The barrier highway has some nice fast bends.

Silverton is to hard on the bike/rear tyre when upping the pace, getting air born through the flood ways, creeks and rough road.
barrier highway fast bends? the hills about 20-30k's out r ok, but thats it for 400k's.
The best would be 10k's out on Menindee road, through the hills.
But its fast stuff on dirty roads so ya can't push to hard.

Look at this on google maps. From where I live in Belair:
Upper Sturt Rd
Piccadilly Rd
Greenhill Rd
Deviation Rd
Adelaide/Lobethal Rd
Cudlee Creek Rd
George Rd.
This is the long scenic route to work in the city. Spoilt for choice. Fast 3rd gear corners a lot of the way riding all that wonderful torque.
