Ironman Project B12 complete (for now)
Well it's finished - visually. Finally got the belly pan drama sorted and now painted.
Pretty well happy with it - the horn will be upgraded to one of those compact Nautilus "ear splitters" and will do something with regards to the seat as it grows teeth after 250km and by 300km it feels like a shark is chewing on my arse - absolute agony. It may not please everyone WRT colours... Test n tune at Willowbank is coming up soon so will be going to that to see what it will do with it's throttle pinned wide open for 400m!

Masterpiece and you shouldn't care what anyone else thinks.
What gearing will you run at Willowbank?

I don't have the luxury of alternate gearing so it's the stock sprockets. It's okay - I have to watch it anyway because if I crack the throttles wide open in 1st/2nd after 6,000rpm, all of a sudden I loose my steering and my landings aren't always the smoothest - does the head shake fandango -

Good job FT. Are they just the std bars painted or are they aftermarkets ? How about a Gold Irridium screen ? Mmmmmmm.

No, the bars are Renthal Superbike Ultralows in anodised gold. They are an aluminium bar - and be warned - if you are thinking of the same - you need their bar ends too. I found out the hard way.

Dunno, seen aftermarket screens do unspeakable things to plastics in direct sunlight (think magnifing glass). I like the concept though.

The back straight in Collie is around 400m.. I can tell you with a 17 tooth sprocket on the front and a 35mm Jack up kit with all the other mods on my bike it'll hit close to the limiter in 4th. I think thats around 180-190kph before wacking on the front brake hard for the corner. Your brakes will take a hammering, I was getting brake fade after about 7 laps.
Good luck with the track day.

Very nice FT, the belly pan gives it an aggressive stance & really finishes it off. Enjoy your track day.

The bricks don't really add any reflected colour to the picture, gus. That was taken before 8am so the light temperature tends to make things look more yellow. The test 'n tune is at the Drag Strip - can't afford the $250+ for a circuit run yet. I'll post up when the drags are on. Feel free to join in - you'll need proper m/c boots and leather jacket to race. Kevlar jeans are OK too. $45 to run and it gets one other person in with you as a "pit crew". It is addictive too I might add. Thanks for the positive reception Guys for the "Ironman". I'm hoping to run in the 11's.
