Re: My new levers with pic's
got em this evening.....
Now for the installing part. The instructions that came with the levers are pretty useless.... I'm assuming the install was easy? I'm going to run unto bunnings and get the grease and locktite tomorrow morning.... Any installing advice would be greatly appreciated.
I really like the laser inscriptions

Re: My new levers with pic's
Probably the easiest job that you can do on ya Bandit Chips. Only one bolt to remove. You do have to change over the little bung pusher thingy ( technical term ) on your clutch lever and put it in the new one. Just compare both, you'll see. Dont be too heavy on the grease. Remember that grease is a great substance to attract dust n dirt. I wouldn't use locktite. Just use nylock nuts. Best of luck. Show us the end result.

Re: My new levers with pic's
I did it
Ok, so there was already soooooo much grease that I didn't bother putting anymore on.
So the brake went easy, didn't realise that it was such an easy job.
The gear lever was a little bit more tricky. Took me a few minutes to work out what the bush was, because I didn't have one. Lucky I had already bought the pat from Suzuki ($7) and had it handy.... Forgot about that but now it is going in.
I love the fact that the new bush for the gear lever is gold as well.....
Now I know these are a bit "loud" but it is MY BIKE and I REALLY LIKE them.....

Re: My new levers with pic's
I got the same levers Chips and I found that I had to nip up the other little srews just a touch to take some of the "slop" out of them. The nuts on the bottom are a bit hard to hold, ( I used thin timing spanners ), but it is worth it.

are you trying to confuse me?
What other nuts/screws? The only thing holding these on is a single nut/bolt?

Re: My new levers with pic's
Anyone who has these particular levers - have you noticed any colour fading yet? Mine have been on the bike for 2 weeks now and have "tan lines" where the adjuster has been set. The gold colour is fading to a more blonde colour. SBF!
Bike is under a cover during the day without fail too.

Re: My new levers with pic's
no. mine are fine. The red adjusters have always been more pink then red tho.
Re: My new levers with pic's
I've got the same as Reardo - black with red adjusters & have only just fitted them.
Hopefully they won't fade, but apparantly the cheap knock off levers are well known for colour fading. Bloke at a bike shop told me to expect mine to go from black to grey. At $36 for the set I'm not too worried - if they fade over time I'll replace them.
Cheers,

Re: My new levers with pic's
My black ones are fine too and I've had them on for quite some time. The only downside is one of them copped a rock at high speed and has a nice crater gouged in it. You'd expect that from any piece of aluminium regardless of whether it was from China or Italy.
