Tablet/Pad Technology
Has anyone jumped onto the Tablet/Pad technology bandwagon?
If so what have you got?
Although I own several Apple products, a few weeks ago I chose an Android equipped 10 inch Acer mainly because I needed it to run flash and HD video and I have an Android phone so I know how Android works.
The name is a mouthful Acer Iconia A500 32gb. iPad2 is much easier Anyway I’m impressed by the quality and battery performance is outstanding and using the navigator on a 10 inch screen is awesome. It must be like pulling up to the pub with a 190 on the rear of the Bandit
This was a “want” not a “need” but it has and will save me firing up a desktop PC and I can surf the net from the couch without trying to balance a laptop on my knee. Out and about I use my phone as a personal WiFi hotspot.
We have come a long way from cave painting
What do others use?

I'm still one of the cave painters. I do have an Acer laptop to surf the net from the lounge-room but it is just a laptop.

I'm battling to see a point to the tablet PCs. I use a laptop every day and can't see myself moving just yet.

I said the same thing 6 months ago
They're not a replacement but do some things better with the great battery life (10hrs) much lighter and portable.

I've been embracing the tablet technology for years - take several twice a day. As for ipads ( incontinence pads ? ) thankfully don't need those just yet.

Re: Tablet/Pad Technology
I have my MacBook pro, my iPad, iPhone...... And have just picked up a new pre paid mobile Internet gadget to connect all three to the Internet at once. With 5Gb available which does not expire for 90 days if I need more Internet I just buy more what could be more simpl in life.
I can now take my life with me where ever I go. If I need more power than the iPad offers I just load up the Mac. But let's be honest there is very little that cannot be done on the iPad not that iworks is available for the iPad.

My family has been completely assimilated. 3 iphones, 3 ipod touches, various small ipods, so far only one ipad, but another in about 2 weeks. I am not an apple fanboy ,but if stuff works why knock it. We have all been very happy with the quality of the gear.

I am lying flat on my back unable to move too much and can still access the Internet type easily due to the touch screen and watch movies all from my iPad. I greatly depends on what you want to do I suppose.

Re: Tablet/Pad Technology
hell, I am about to disconnect my mobile because I prefer not having one after many years of being 'on call' 24/7 for work.
Tablets - I dropped a few in my youth and I thought it was all over-rated. Magic mushies seemed a lot stronger to me!
