Having had my Bandit stolen last week, what is the current nearest version ? - the GSX-S1000GT? Going to test drive one at the weekend...

Unfortunately nobody makes a UJM these days. Bikes are more specialised. It also depends on what you want from the Bandit equivalent. Alternatives can range from MT10/09 to S1000R. The GSX with pannier’s is a ripper if you’re happy to keep the revs up. You also have a fabulous option but a price in the R1250RS.
Or pick up a used B1200/1250 and enjoy what you know.

I would like one of those GSX-SGT's but I am sure my licence wouldn't. As 2 wheels said you could always hunt around, still some low-ish kms out there.

There's supposed to be a X version in the pipeline for next year. Think Multistrada but Suzuki reliability, ease of service & cost.
