Pipe
Nice aftermarket pipe. What brand is it? How does it sound? Any problems installing it?

Re: Sloth_27's Bandit
These photos show where the bike is at today, far from it's once pristine condition . I've just painted the rear footpeg hangers and sprocket cover black so they blend in a little better. Primed and ready for a four day tour through the Snowy Mountains this weekend. Hopefully without any actual snow...
I'm still in two minds about whether or not to spend money on this bike and really get it sorted or just wait 12 months and buy something different. Or I might keep it and get a Suzuki DR650 and start going off road.

Re: Sloth_27's Bandit
I’d keep the bandit as it is and look around for another bike when the need (want) or tastes dictate.
If you sell it I want that rack!

I think you're right.
The rack is just the Ventura one turned around to face the other way with a big f-off 45L expandable enduro bag. Not the cheapest option but I used to commute on it everyday and that setup is as useful as they come.

Every time I check the Ventura site they only specify the big ugly mofo L brackets.
Got a part number mate?
Re: Sloth_27's Bandit
Chris, for the 07 - 10 S and SA 1250 Bandit the part numbers are:
L Brackets - S105/B
Pack Rack (tall) - PF-12B
Sport Rack (short) - SR12/B
Grab Handle - GH12/18/B
These part numbers are also relevant for the 2010> GSX1250 FA and the 06 1200 Bandits.
For 01-05 Bandits change the 12 to 13 (and 18 to 19 for the handle).
The earlier 96-00 Bandits are 15 instead of 12 (and 17 replaces the 18).
This link to PASHNIT will give you the complete 15 page listings for most bikes (Bandits are on page 12).

So I see by the SBA calander in front of me (April), that the colour change is only a recent thing. Did you do it yourself Sloth_27, or did you get it professionally done ?

Matt is away for a few days...so ill answer for him
The bike was originally pur...*cough* i mean dark red like mine. He never liked the colour so he had it profesionally painted GSXR blue. Then after an unfortunate incident, to cut costs down, he repainted it himself in the back yard.

Actually, it's been painted again since the ghetto backyard job. Got it done cheap by a local smash repairer. The bike has been black since Jan 2010.
So the history is; Purple > GSXR Blue > Rattle-can Black > Black
Also, here are a couple of snaps from our recent Snowy Mountains ride. Numbers were down this year after we had to postpone due to the places we were going being underwater last month. Lucky Cam wasn't there cause he wouldn't have been able to keep up anyway...

Re: Sloth_27's Bandit
Took the Road Warrior down to WSID for a run on Wednesday night, here's a nice shot in all it's filthy glory.
Fastest time I ran was 11.7 @ 187kph (116mph). The Bandit can beat anything off the line but the 1000cc sportsbikes eat it alive in the final 100m with some running sub 10s . It was a fun night anyway doing 8 runs.
Don't get out on the bike so much these days as I'm a bit preoccupied with my other toy.
