Recall Notice
First topic message reminder :
Got my recall notice yesterday.
The note says to confirm the VIN.
Wouldnt they already have that on file and know which build range was affected?
If mine is included I'll ask the dealer fit one of those recently popular whistles too.

Re: Recall Notice
All done this morning at SCMC Lane Cove. Dropped the bike off & then had a wander around their expanding showroom!
30 minutes later had the bike back, & was back in the office

Re: Recall Notice
I haven't received a thing... didn't know about it until today when I tried to book the 1250s in for a service. Bought the bike 2nd hand with only 1750km on it and changed all paperwork over into my name at a Suzuki dealership so no excuse for being left in the dark by something as important as this..

Re: Recall Notice
Just talk to your Suzuki dealer. They can call up the VIN and should do the change over without a letter if yours is one that should be on the list. I did mine at a Yamaha dealer and if they can do it ..........................

It will be a problem unless previous owner had it changed. My 07 required a new R/R, I just took my old one down to the shop and exchanged it. Took me about 20 mins max to swap out.

re: Recall Notice
Hey guys I just found this. What's the recall notice for? I bought my bike at 260ks private sale so there;s no chance of me getting a recall notice.

Re: Recall Notice
Talk to a dealer they will exchange it no charge . Part is Reg -recterfier on LHS with the FINS on it.
I told them bike was in pieces so i couldnt bring it in so they just handed it over .That way i got to fit it AND i got to keep the "old " one .

Re: Recall Notice
My dealer would only hand over the new item in exchange for the old. It's a ten minute change over anyway.

Recall Notice
What a load of crap. Suzuki dealer needs half an hour to undo 3 bolts and a plug.

RE: Recall notice
Gotta love the recall on the GXSR 1000. All of a sudden your front end falls off. Better recheck all the welds on the bandit!

Re: Recall Notice
I had trouble with my rectifier back in June or July this year. I was unaware of the rectifier recall as I had moved house and did not update details.
I took the rectifier to local Kawasaki dealer(Morwell Kawasaki) as they are the only bike dealer in Morwell, I wasn't happy with suzuki dealers in Warragul & Moe when I went to purchase new bandit in 2009, one wasn't interested in selling a bandit and the other wasn't interested in doing a bit of a deal with pricing. Ended up bying from Byrners Suzuki in Seaford they had a great deal on ebay.
Morwell Kawasaki called Suzuki Australia to get price on replacement rectifirer. They were asked what year it was, and were told to check VIN number. I gave them the details and they said I could get a replacement for free as there was a problem with them. Received new rectifier a week later. Bike runs great.
I thought this was fantastic service and honesty from a rival dealer. The guys @ morwell Kawasaki have won my business from now on.
Just wanted to give them a plug for there help.

Re: Recall Notice
Just got my "final notification" for the safety recall! It's been 18 months since I had the rectifier replaced, and about 12 months since my first notification. Someone at Suzuki is pretty slow at processing the paperwork from the dealers.........
