Re: Recall
It looks like the L2 & L4 models in the gsf & gsx & only various vin numbers ......................must have been a bad batch , but I will ring them tomorrow anyway .

Ditto,Jimcoleman wrote:Me thinks i dodged a bullet ans mine is 2010
mine is a 2011, bought it new in 2012 and at the time wished it was a 2012
Re: Recall
The 2010 is an L0 , I thought I heard somewhere they stopped bringing them in to Aus. at one stage & were selling the stock they had here already for a while until the current update model arrived ......not sure how that translates to year / model , so the VIN is the only way to really tell

Re: Recall
If they are replacing heads I'd be getting some work done whilst I was there. My bullet proof 07 bandito isn't affected this time, if it was I would all for a recall on the shit paint job.

Re: Recall
It was later than that paul (unlees it happenned in 2010 as well), there were no 2012 bikes until really late in the year while they cleared the 2010/2011 stock (that's when I bought mine at a nearly too good to be true price), IIRC they didn't bring 2013 bikes in but I could be wrong on thatpaul wrote:The 2010 is an L0 , I thought I heard somewhere they stopped bringing them in to Aus. at one stage & were selling the stock they had here already for a while until the current update model arrived ......not sure how that translates to year / model , so the VIN is the only way to really tell
Re: Recall
Luckily mine is an L1
If you bought the bike new Suzuki should be contacting you if your Vin is on the affected list

When stopping in today to see the guys at Suzuki, mine isn't on the list at this stage. But they hadn't even heard about it

The Honda VFR1200F and VFR1200X have been recalled to fix an “incorrect assembly procedure at the factory” where the driveshaft bearings can overheat, deteriorate and fail.
“If left unrepaired, the bearing surfaces may ‘break up’ and may cause the shaft to lock up whilst riding.” the safety notice says.
BMW Australia has recalled the C 600 Sport and C 650 GT scooters over a front brake hose issue. “Due to the incorrect positioning of the abrasion protector, the flexibility of the front brake hose may be impaired. This can result in the brake hose suffering damage and may lead to a loss of brake fluid. The stopping power of the front brake could diminish, dependent on the amount of brake fluid lost,” the notice says.

You could show your Ducati friends this page
https://www.recalls.gov.au/content/index.phtml/itemId/952844
or your BMW mates this one if you need to save face with them

Nobody is immune from recalls unfortunately.
It's a pity Aust doesn't have the same Suzuki website as America has , where you can type your VIN in and find out if your bike is affected or not over the internet
