Thinking of buying a Hayabusa.

Post  Saikhan on Tue Jan 11, 2011 1:31 am

Hey all, I had the opportunity to ride a Busa for a fair distance and I feel it is a must have purchase. Damn thing fitted me like a glove, and power, holy crap. I am not in a hurry but I can see it happening, maybe 6 months or so. I can ride it again next week. I went to the dealer and he offered me 10k for the Bandit so not bad. The Bandit is (as you are all aware ) an excellent all round motorcycle and I love it, but that Busa is in a whole different class. Hmmm decisions decisions.

don't procrastinate (or in blunt terms - fuck around), follow the rule of nike.

I don't recon you will regret it one bit.

I lust after one but they are not practical for my needs so am sticking with the bandit for the time being

Yes it's really just the Bandit sport special. They just made a mistake with the naming.

It should have been called GSF-R1300F, Suzuki's fault not yours.

There's a few things you'll need to be aware of if you buy one.
1. Are you prepared to ride unlicensed?
2. Do you own a tyre factory?
3. Do you have shares in a chain factory?
4. Are you prepared to let me ride it?

These in early form are equal top of my lust list with a TLR

Hello All,

I have been lurking around this (and other) forums while deciding what new bike to buy … needless to say it was not a Suzuki in the end.
I am not trying to be a smart-ass here but some of you need to get a REALITY check and get off your high horses when it comes to what is a Bandit and what is not in this and other threads I have read.

GSF’s ARE Bandits, NOTHING ELSE affraid !!! GSX’s ARE NOT Bandits, they are derived from the Katana and GSX-R models… Nor is a Hayabusa a Bandit.

The GSX1250FA is also NOT a Bandit, to be technical it is the “big” little brother of the GSX650F as it came first.

One of my mates has a Busa, and he is very open to admit the first three points raised by 2WA about the license, tyres and chains. The fifth point should be getting used to people saying "shit that thing is ugly!".

I'm too scared to ask him for a ride - because if I did I know I'd end up owning one. They are very nice. In the time it takes me to round a big sweeper hard on the gas, he will be a black spot on a distant hill. They ARE that fast. For such a big and long bike they are very nimble, even if they are a chain eating, tyre shredding, ugly, license loosing machine.

Who really cares what you brought, you're part of the motorcycling family and that's all that counts. Why remove the logon. Don't you like us or something.

your's appears to be much higher

good observation
honda wrote:GSX’s ARE NOT Bandits, they are derived from the Katana and GSX-R models
IMO depends on which GSX you are talking about, the GSXR#### or the GSX####R or the GSX####F, they are all different, derived form a different species and intended for different end users

No shit sherlock

To be technical the GSX1250F and it's little brother the GSX650F are essentially bandits (1250/650 depending on what you get) with a fairing that has been inspired by the GSXR range. I'd like to suggest you take a quick (and it only needs to be quick) look under the skin of the bikes I'm sure you will see what I am talking about. They are in no way related to the current GSXR####/GSX####R range of bikes (you do know the bandit originally was related to the GSXR and had a GSXR derived engine don't you) apart from the outer skin much in the same way a model puts makeup on to look pretty

Again, why. Don't you like us or do you think you are better than us.

I agree with Dhula, take off all of the fairings and the GSX1250FA is a bandit. Besides, it's a whole lot easier to call my bike the bandit, rather than GSX1250FA Cool

yeah...they are a special breed Laughing
But its ok...not everybody can be as lucky as us on this forum to own a BANDIT.
Speaking of BANDITS...i wonder if he realised this is a BANDIT forum? and that fact that in the banner it says BANDIT/GSX1250 forum. Note the slash between BANDIT and GSX?
and nah, i dont think i will delete it just yet...ill wait till everybody laughs at you first

Thanks Honda, parochial, yes, some of us very much so, some of us (me) happy with what experience tells / teaches us, the Bandit / GSXF / etc are a bloody outstanding average bike (IMHO). I’m amazed at the skill of some of those whom can ride and still play with themselves...what Hondas, Accord with a straw hat on the rear shelf... each to their own i guess... ;-)
