Welcome,
Nice looking bike, It's got a pipe already which is a good start, the original looks more at home on a Kenworth truck Shocked

Looks like you're in Victoria, hopefully you guys can get your heads together and plan a ride, there must be enough of you now.

The pipe has a nice deep sound to it. Even with the restrictor it is better than standard - without it the sound is very pleasant. I had it put on by dealer before I picked it up - ($678). Looking at puting a Gear Indicator on it next then might change the lights over to HIDs. (Have a thing about good headlights on cars & bikes).

They ARE a nice looking motorcycle aren't they?! Grey and black go well together.
Not so sure about that expensive, raucous, non-Kenworth muffler : ) - but at least I'll be able to hear you coming over the border!
Many happy and safe rides ahead mate. See you on the road.
Will be interested in your story of fixing up the headlight and what that requires and costs.
I know it is a point of contention, but do you ride with your headlight on?
Has anyone done a survey on how many Bandit owners leave their light on - and whether it is on low or high beam? Maybe I will put that up as another Topic some time. Question

Putting together my wish list of mods for the bike with my thoughts on available products:
Gear Indicator - Will go for a Healtech unit but am looking at the smaller DS series as I do not need the TRE (timing retard eliminator) and the small size will let me mount it in centre of instruments around &200.
Radiator Guard - Cox aluminium in Black around $110.
Headlight Protector - From AMPH cheap insurance for $47.
Improved Headlights - Would love to go H.I.D.'s (Gas discharge) but a, not so quick, read of the A.D.R.'s shows that unless you have self levelling and a washing system they are not allowed. Not the 'not allowed' bit does not bother me but after being in front of a few cars lately that have had 'conversions' to their lights I can tell the difference between a good set up and a swap. Other problems are 1) If you replace the High beam side then you will find that the 'Flash' button is not much use as the H.I.D.'s take a bit to warm up and by then the 'flash' moment has gone, & 2) they are not quite 'plug & play' as you need a delay relay on the Low side if your low beam is hard wired 'on. This is due to the ballasts not liking the idea of being powered up when the key is turned on but then the power is cut when the starter is fired. I might just go for the best H7 globes I can find as the bike is only one month old and I think if I add too much 'stuff' the warranty might be adversely affected.
Taller Screen - Thinking about this but will do some longer rides before deciding on need/usefulness.
As I said above I will not go for a TRE as this is my road bike and I do not need the 'benefits' of the TRE. (I am still not sold on the idea yet anyway)
Foot pegs - I have raised the seat height which has helped but would like to move the pegs down and back. I know you can reverse the current pegs but that puts them down & forward - I saw some bolt on adjustable units fo a reasonable price somewhere on the Web but can't remember the site.
I think the Bandit is a great bike I just like making things the way I want them and there is not a lot to change on this one.
