Hi, thanks for adding me to your forum. I'm looking forward to reading all the stories, advice and tips.

I just recently retired (from work) so have more time for enjoying riding. I have a 95 CBR1000F and was chasing something to do some day touring with and decided a Bandit would suit my needs. I ended up getting a 2008 1250S and I'm extremely happy with it. It cruises nicely on the highway and yet nimble enough for around town.

I'm looking forward to clocking some miles up.

Gidday from another retired bandit riding enthusiast.
Had my 1250 F for five thousand km and have recently completed a first oil change. I like to do things like that myself.
Also recently adjusted the suspension settings to suit my riding weight which is a bit less than average so softened things up.
Check fork top adjusters and the rear shock for rebound and compression adjustments...the manual tells you how to do it and where to look.

Regards from New Zealand which happens to be pretty cold today.

Thanks for the welcome and tips.

Yeah l read change the oil at least every 6000 ks, sparkplugs every 12,000 ks and valve clearances every 24,000 ks. I figured I'd do most of that except the valves. I've already flushed the radiator Coolant and brakes fluids. Will do the engine oil shortly just waiting on an oil filter. That way l know it's done.

Thanks for the suspension tips. I think it needs a bit of fine tuning for my weight and riding style. I think will put it a back to standard adjustments and go from there.

I live on the Darling Downs Queensland about 3 hours from Brisbane. We've had a cold winter (for us) looking forward to summer.

G'day 12fifty,
bike looks nice. Whilst giving it the once over, look up "Guss's fuel fix" and do that. Dead easy to do. Was in QLD for 5 weeks March/April catching up & all were complaining about the weather & the so called Sunshine Coast. 🏍🏍
