Please forgive my ignorance but how often should I clean my chain? How will I know when it needs a clean? I just thought keeping it lubed was enough but obviously not... Embarassed

Do it at least every service. Kero, cheap paint brush, rags and 30 mins is all you need.
"Only lubing" will collect a huge amount of junk that eventually works counter to what lube is designed to do.

Some here use an auto lube system. But I clean mine as above.

What 2wa said. plus , Wurth sell a product called PTFE DryLube which doesn't attract dirt. Spray it on and leave it to set for 10 mins. Doesn't harm O ring or X ring chains. Chain must be clean before applying.

If you add a Scottoiler you seldom have to do anything to the chain. You will have to clean your rim on occassion though
