Chain Cleaning
Please forgive my ignorance but how often should I clean my chain? How will I know when it needs a clean? I just thought keeping it lubed was enough but obviously not...

Re: Chain Cleaning
Do it at least every service. Kero, cheap paint brush, rags and 30 mins is all you need.
"Only lubing" will collect a huge amount of junk that eventually works counter to what lube is designed to do.
Some here use an auto lube system. But I clean mine as above.

What 2wa said. plus , Wurth sell a product called PTFE DryLube which doesn't attract dirt. Spray it on and leave it to set for 10 mins. Doesn't harm O ring or X ring chains. Chain must be clean before applying.

Re: Chain Cleaning
I clean mine every 1000 to 1500 km / makes the job easier & the chain last longer ( I use motul lube which can be a bit gunky )

Re: Chain Cleaning
If you add a Scottoiler you seldom have to do anything to the chain. You will have to clean your rim on occassion though
