Cleaning / lubing chain
Knocked this up after work today - not too pretty but it works.
Stops muck flying around onto the floor, tyre etc when spraying chain lube or cleaning with a brush and kero - or whatever your poison.

A plastic tub from the $2 shop with a bit of old real estate sign attached to direct any run off into the tub
Tucks in nice and snug, keeps everything off the tyre and the floor.
Anyway make of it what you will but it beats stuffing around with newspaper on the floor and bits of cardboard to keep the spray off the tyre.

Re: Cleaning / lubing chain
I had to cut the lip off the edge of the tub to let it sit back as close as possible to the tyre. The black stuff you can see is some silicone I used under the washers to stop any possibility of anything leaking out the back of the tub where the screws go through.

I want one ... need to make that up.
Has anyone made a jig to control the flow of oil out of the oil filter ? ... I need one of those too.

Tinfoil. Under the filter, folded to funnel into the oil pan. Works a treat and keeps oil off the headers

That's another beef I have with this bike. Pretty ordinary design that

Re: Cleaning / lubing chain
Good idea... worth building one. Has anyone tried or used one of those 3 sided chain brushes?? And what is the best fluid to clean the chain with?? (Been told that the 'o' rings are susceptible to some oils etc)??

Re: Cleaning / lubing chain
I use a kettenmax chain cleaner which can be brought from http://www.motorradgarage.com.au
Look on youtube for the video
The plastic bucket is a good idea. It'll get brittle after a while with petroleum priducts in it, but for $2 who can complain.
BTW whats wrong with alfoil around the headers? Throw it in the fire or in the bin after you finish the oil change and it's all good.

Hadn't thought of that but as you say for the price I'll knock up another one when this one bites the dust.
