Trivia .....
First topic message reminder :
What does everone think about a TRIVIA thread
Stuff that maybe of no use to most people but really handy to the others. Maybe a good DVD ,something they have made, seen ,heard of ,
cooked ,been too .Minor things that do not really warrant a post of there own.(like most of my stuff ,there beat you to it )
Like taking a tractor tyre up north to float your Bandit across a river to a football selection ,the taste of beer ,who's state is
better at Rugby League. (may be not that) .Something that may make someone else say ,"why didnt i think of that".
Good idea or just post it on "off topic discussions " or not post it at all? (feeling vulnerable now )

This bit of scientific research explains a LOT of the controversy on this forum.

Re: Trivia .....
I was on the way home a while back ,late at night (on Bandit ). Pulled up at a red light on a 3 lane major road .As luck would have it there was a Harley in the middle lane ,a hot lowered 4 cyl. thing in right hand lane ,and me on the Bandit in the left hand lane .Now when that happens you know
trouble is afoot , especially with no other traffic .
I think ,ok then ,i'm in this , give it your best boys and focus on the red light.
All of a sudden the car roars off and is through the intersection on a RED light , but thats red by a long shot ..Light suddenly turns GREEN .I'm still
confused by the car .Harley takes of and gone .I'm left on the the line thinking what the F.... is going on here .

Re: Trivia .....
Ahhh Gus - you're (we're) old school! Traffic lights are a mere advisory tool now, you dont have to obey them as one was taught. Same goes with those white lines on the road - dont need to stay in them, and those pesky indicators you've been messing with.....take em off coz nobody uses them anymore!
It all makes for an interesting daily commute!

Re: Trivia .....
There's a back road at work which has a stop sign. No one does, except me. As with your observations, I've seen people belt through the sign at speed. One day I'll see someone come to grief, as long as it's not me.gus wrote:I think your right .The is a little cafe i used to got to which had a stop sign close by .One day i counted how many people didnt stop .

Re: Trivia .....
I had a crash once when someone came through a stop sign .Managed to miss the
back of the car, fit between the stop sign and a post (just ), jumped a drain (nearly )
back wheel hit the edge ,it bucked and threw me over the bars .Guy drove off, luckily
my mate gave chase .Boy did he want to pay up quick .No real damage to me .
Anyway ,i was going to say . You know how we all have bottles or containers of old bolts . Well a baking tray is a much better way ,you can actually
get what you want WITHOUT having to tip it all out .
After i took the pic i decided to call it "Mechanical Art "

I went to get the bandit weighed but the huge weigh bridge only weighed in 20 kg increments .Not much good for a bike .

Re: Trivia .....
We went down the road today to try ang get a pic of a tree. The pics were disappointing BUT.
If you look close to the base of the tree ,next to a little bush you can see a silver (?) object . Taking the shot i didnt notice it ,but leaving
i thought "what is that ". It looked like someone ( read moron ) had dumped some type of electrical machine .Figuring i'd do the right thing
and dispose of it properly i put it in the car .Unloading it at home it looked in good nick .Too good.Read on
